Since time began, power hungry egotists have depended upon the willingness of lick-spittle underlings to bring disrepute upon their own reputations for the good of the team.
On Tuesday, before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer joined that club of slinking weasels by taking the blame for Attorney General Eric Holders professed extended ignorance of Operation Fast and Furious.
Coincidentally testifying just after a 650 page document dump by the Department Of Justice, Breuer made the particulars of his Regime prescribed assignment quite clear: blame the Gunwalking proclivities of the ATF on the Bush Administration; blame the weakness of current gun legislation for both increasing lawlessness on the border and the necessary implementation of dangerous, Fast and Furious type schemes; and blame himself for Eric Holder not being up to speed on the Operation much earlier in 2011.
Quite a lot of blame, but of course NONE of it directed at Obama, Holder or the Regime itself.
A large percentage of the DOJ document release concerned the 2006/2007 ATF operation Wide Receiver during which some 350 weapons were lost across the Mexican border.
Claiming to have found out about the Operation in April of 2010, Breuer lamented not making the connections between that case and Fast and Furious upon discovering in early 2011 that guns had walked into Mexico once again.
He said it was his deepest regret to not have immediately informed Eric Holder of the similarities between the operations.
Certainly these crocodile tears shed by Lanny Breuer made for a clumsy way of disguising the politically inspired motives for bringing up Wide Receiver.
But then, for the Obama Regime, desperate times call for shameless measures.

And who’s idea was it to NOT TRACK THE WEAPONS?
...which is typically a priority in any “sting” operation....
Bush team only used a few weapons.....AND THEY TRACKED THEM!!!
Hah!
That sounds like a good line for his resume:
"Lick-spittle underling who is willing to bring disrepute upon their own reputation for the good of the team"...
He'd probably get hired a lot - but only for very short term assignments...
Apparently no one is going to take responsibility for allowing guns to “walk” without any attempt to track them. Total coverup.
