Daytona Beach, Florida With a major referendum on public sector unions Tuesday in Ohio, three of the four candidates appearing in the Florida Tea Party Convention Debate Sunday indicated that the very existence of public sector unions is a flawed system that should be ended while the fourth, front runner Herman Cain, said a Cain Presidency would not cater to the union minority over the non union majority.
The union question was posed by moderator C. Edmund Wright, an American Thinker columnist and tea party speaker who has written and spoken extensively on government union problems. Former Senator Rick Santorum, Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann and former Speaker Newt Gingrich all agreed with Wrights assessment that such unions are by their very nature flawed. Cain, who publicly spoke in support of Governor Scott Walker during Wisconsins fight over union legacy costs, was only slightly less specific.
I was surprised pleasantly so at how strongly they came out against the very concept of public sector unions said Wright after the debate. While most of these unions are state, city or county unions, it is absolutely a national issue because federal tax money was used to bail out unions under the guise of stimulus. And of course, Speaker Gingrich correctly recalled that even FDR was against the concept of public unions because they in effect bargain against the very people they are supposed to be serving.
Wright went on to say that the union question was something I have been wanting to ask Presidential candidates for months and added that in light of the vote in Ohio on Tuesday, it could not have been more timely. NOTE: Wright is available for interviews.
ABOUT YOUR GUEST, C. EDMUND WRIGHT
C. Edmund Wright is a frequent contributor to the American Thinker (AmericanThinker.com) -- where his experiences in business, polling and political communications gives him peerless insight into the issues of the day. He has owned numerous businesses over the past couple of decades and was communications director for the 92 NC Bush Quayle Campaign -- where he found out how frustrating it can be for a true conservative working for political moderates. His work with the liberal elites of SC in a polling and focus group gives him inside experience dealing with the liberal mindset. Called an "exceptionally talented writer" and "brilliant and very funny" by Rush Limbaugh -- Wright specializes in connecting the dots showing why conservatism works and liberalism fails.

FDR said the same thing!
How far we have come.
I agree 100% with that. PEU should NOT exist.
teachers are screwed anyway because there are going to be more and more of these “virtual schools”. who would object to students having online access to teachers at the top of their field? people want the kids to be taught by the best of the best. that’s what they keep saying.
Thanks geraldmcg.
