BRANSON, Mo. (AP) - Singer Andy Williams told the crowd at his Christmas show Saturday night that he has bladder cancer.
The Tri-Lakes News reports the 83-year-old Williams appeared early in the show at the Moon River Theatre and vowed to return next year to celebrate his 75th year in show business (http://bit.ly/uaedcs).

Andy Williams is great. Truly a great singer.
Here’s a gift for the posters on this thread:
oh man I grew up with this man making my Christmas seasons (for decades) meaningful...best wishes to a great American.. beat it Andy
Yes, sad but if the cancer has not spread to other area’s, it is curable with the removal of the bladder..simular to a colostomy bag is used...or at least that was the process years ago when I was working in the hospital...may have better proceedures now.
That is so Weird!! I was going to post a link to that song but forgot at the last minute! Here’s more:

I would think as the bladders is a hollow organ, it could grow quite large before producing symptoms.
Former four term S. Dak governor and U.S. Representative, Bill Janklow has terminal brain cancer.

Same here. Andy and Perry Como, too.
Christmas was official when Andy sang 'Oh Holy Night' on his TV show, and not a minute before.
‘Perry Como’
As excellent a human being as he was a singer. His life story is very inspiring.
But, procedures change and become better as time goes by and my hospital work was back in the mid 80's. (thats when I retired to become a full time goat herder)
I like his spirit and if caught early enough, bladder cancer is very survivable.
Moon River....and he got to bang that crazy beauty Claudine Longet.
Good luck sir and thanks for the Christmas specials
I`m saddened to hear this.. I grew up hearing Andy Williams` music. He`s a good man and a class act. Hang in there, Andy.
Sad. One of our all-time greatest singers.
Nobody sings ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ like Andy.

God bless him.
Andy Williams is a great singer, I recall watching some of his shows in the 60’s.
Thanks to the various freepers for posting youtube videos of Mr. Williams, it brings back fond family memories!
Most common early symptom is blood in the urine.
I went to Andy’s show in September when Ann Margret was appearing with him. I hadn’t seen Ann Margret since Long Binh, Vietnam, in 1969 when she toured with the Bob Hope Christmas show. She will always have a special place in my memories.
