Yes, sad but if the cancer has not spread to other area’s, it is curable with the removal of the bladder..simular to a colostomy bag is used...or at least that was the process years ago when I was working in the hospital...may have better proceedures now.

I would think as the bladders is a hollow organ, it could grow quite large before producing symptoms.

Joltin' Joe Frazier has late term liver cancer.

Former four term S. Dak governor and U.S. Representative, Bill Janklow has terminal brain cancer.

Same here. Andy and Perry Como, too.
Christmas was official when Andy sang 'Oh Holy Night' on his TV show, and not a minute before.

‘Perry Como’

As excellent a human being as he was a singer. His life story is very inspiring.

That would depend on where the cancer started growing..if it started near the small opening where the urine exits the bladder, symptoms would show up sooner, but the cancer would also take up space that would normally be a reservoir for the urine so the person would find passing urine more frequently. I am no expert on bladder cancers but worked on an oncology unit and bladder cancers were pretty infrequent to other types of cancers on the unit. We did get a few patients that already had the surgery and had the urostomy bag. Not as traumatic for some as a colostomy.

But, procedures change and become better as time goes by and my hospital work was back in the mid 80's. (thats when I retired to become a full time goat herder)

I like his spirit and if caught early enough, bladder cancer is very survivable.

Sad. One of our all-time greatest singers.
Nobody sings ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ like Andy.

“Until Claudine ran away with and later killed Spider Sabich..”

Andy Williams is a great singer, I recall watching some of his shows in the 60’s.
Thanks to the various freepers for posting youtube videos of Mr. Williams, it brings back fond family memories!

Most common early symptom is blood in the urine.

I went to Andy’s show in September when Ann Margret was appearing with him. I hadn’t seen Ann Margret since Long Binh, Vietnam, in 1969 when she toured with the Bob Hope Christmas show. She will always have a special place in my memories.
