“Cain-Gingrich or Gingrich-Cain works for me.”

Yes maam, shout it from the mountain tops.

That is not what Cain said at all. He said that China was trying to develop a nuclear capability and he related it to their submarine fleet and their upcoming carrier fleet.

You cannot make this man out to be an idiot. He’s the very definition of a rocket scientist, (did it for the Navy to pay his own way through Purdue) and you cannot, without putting his remarks out of context or syntax or severe editing demean him.

I’d like to revisit the this thread after the debate on Saturday. Gingrich will politely show how limited Cain is in the knowledge base he needs to be potus.

Would love it . . . also Cain/Bachmann would delight me too.

Would like better a 'Gingrich/Cain' ticket. . .or Gingrich/Rubio (if they get his birth status 'determined'.); but of course, Rubio is not running; and Cain is ahead of Newt, etc. . .

Still; like strength and experience at top of ticket; and I consider that strength, Newt's.

From your quotes, it looks like Palin's, Perry's and others' positions on what to do once you have full control over the border, something Gingrich believes he can get done by January 1, 2014.

I think it was at the Reagan Library debate, Newt suggested his thinking on this issue when asked. He said local communities can make decisions on who to keep on a needs basis. When the questioner suggested that would be unworkable, Newt said he'd use the old World War I draft boards as a model.

I don't think Romney goes on record with a plan; I've seen him asked directly about those illegals already here and he dodges and switches to talking about securing the border first.

Perry's view is only known because of his mid-2000s editorial writing in opposition to Bush/McCain-style citizenship giveaway amnesty and in favor of a renewable, temporary guest worker program.

I don't recall if Bachmann, Santorum or the others are on record on what happens after the border is controlled, they seem to always circle back to just controlling the border.

Cain is weak to say the least on many issues and wings it as he goes with the tough questions. This evidences he simply was not prepared to have made it thus far, as does other issues around his campaign. He rose fast, and of recent, but this does not make a President when his learning curve is so great..and widens as the questions become more serious and direct.

Everybody likes the guy, obvious he’s a good man, but no matter how I see him he is not prepared to take on the Presidency especially in light of the state our country is in, let alone handling things on an International level. He just isn’t.....He has too far to go before he’s informed...just too dang far.

He said we should not be telling other nations what we’re doing such as in Iraq and Iran...and then proceeded to talk about where he’d place ships concerning Iran if he was President. He does not understand what he says matters and claiming he’d have to have information before he’d comment on issues is a stall or out because he just doesn’t know.

These are just some of the things that make me really nervous about Cain as President....it doesn’t matter if he’s a rocket scientist ....politically he is just not up to par for the Presidency at this time. Convince me otherwise.

There is no direct constitutional prohibition of presidential and vice presidential candidates being from the same state. The Constitution requires that electors in the Electoral College must vote for at least one candidate not a resident of their state. In a close election, the choice of the vice presidency would then be in the hands of the Senate.

I’m shocked too about how Cainiacs are not seeing Cain’s flaws. His supporters are circling the wagon just like when Clinton was accused of his problems before he was impeached. Obama must be loving this.

I'd be overjoyed if I were the Obama reelection team while thinking "landslide" and "winning back the House."

Cain has demonstrated he's absolutely not serious about policy, not well versed and not serious about message.

Right of return? No idea. Neocon? No idea. Trading Gitmo detainees for hostages? Yes? No? Abortion? Prolife (but gov't has no role) 9-9-9 criticisms? "You didn't read the plan." Electrified fence? Was a joke. Maybe. Constitutional amendment? l'll sign it. Old sexual harassment claim? Not ready for it.

His campaign has been one long, consistent HAZARD light: this candidate is not ready.

Gingrich will politely show how limited Cain is in the knowledge base he needs to be potus.

I tend to agree Gingrich could do that but will he? Actually he could do that with all of them because he does know what's going on and can articulate it without stumbling...or evading subject matter.

I'm just not real happpy about any of them with our country in such disarray and the problems which will have to be undone. Newt's the only one who can hit the ground running in Washington....and for that I lean toward him....what he accomplished in Washington before far and away exceeds any of his blunders, and there is no question he loves our country and loyal to it.

Not so. Newt lives in Virginia now and has for years.

If the “media” is having a field day with the unsubstianted allegations against Cain, wait until they start focusing on the ample baggage of Gingrich.

Much as I like and appreciate Gingrich`s intellect, his trustworthiness is rather suspect. Paul Ryan would be my choice... Midwest guy, also with a high intellect, and (so far, apparently) without without the target-rich environment of Newt`s marital background.

Remember, the public and the “media” suddenly take on highly pious viewpoints when it`s a Republican under the microscope. Dems get a pass on personal issues, because the bar`s lowered for them.

That’s right pretty much ..... wish Bachman hadn’t flatlined...frankly none of them but Newt seems to understand the nation and the International climate.

Newt’s coming across as the nation matters, as does where we are on the International level and what needs to be done. The rest just seem to be giving answers as they are tutored to give...in order to win.

I don’t like how it’s looking for any of our candidates apart from newt...who holds his own like him or not he’s not about ready to be off guard....and other nation leaders would have difficulty tripping him up.

Well, just to throw a little perspective in here... none of Cain`s supposed “offenses” have been substantiated. It`s one thing to hurl accusations from the shadows of anonymity.. it`s quite another to put your face, your name, your background and, most important, the TRUTH out there.

Until someone steps forward and lets the bright light of scrutiny shine upon them, this is nothing but an attempted character assassination.

If you take all Newt’s blunders they still do not come close to what he does bring to the table that this country needs to turn this ship. No other candidate can lay claim to the degree of knowledge he has of Washington and this country as a qhole...and he has proven he can trun a ship...and that’s what is initially needed now.

I thought hard and long about Newt...and looked at where he stands since his personal life has settled...what he’s been doing etc. Not a single candidate can compare to his ability...and know how.

I am more than willing to risk some blunders and differences I might have with Newt...to see someone hit the ground running and actually steer this ship from the get go...who genuinely wants to do just that.

Newt has forgotten more than Cain will ever know.

Like what a wedding ring means!

You don't have a clue how many women Cain has slept with who aren't his wife!

Ignorance is bliss, huh?

This isn't good timing on your part to bring up Cain's sexual history.
