Is there a lesson to be learned here? The kitchen staff volunteering to feed the Zuccotti Park protestors have been providing for free top-quality meals to OWS protestors and outsiders who are not officially part of the unofficial movement. Kitchen staff no like.
My guess is they wouldnt be happy if I stopped by for a free lunch of organic chicken, vegetables and sheeps-milk-cheese salad either. From the New York Post.
The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a counter revolution yesterday because theyre angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for professional homeless people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.
The point is not that they are homeless or ex-cons. Im guessing the kitchen staff is no longer willing to serve high-quality meals to people who are not down for the struggle and contributing in some way to the movement. In other words, protest like you mean it or you should leave.
To show they mean business, the kitchen staff refused to serve any food for two hours yesterday in order to meet with organizers to air their grievances, sources said.
It looks like the organizers have refused to lock out the homeless and ex-cons. But they came up with a solution. EVERYONE SUFFERS.
For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheeps-milk-cheese salad.
They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.
You cant have any of our free stuff, go elsewhere. Well give you a map.
Some protesters threatened that the high-end meals could be cut off completely if the vagrants and criminals dont disperse.
Unhappiness with their unwelcome guests was apparent throughout the day.
We need to limit the amount of food were putting out to curb the influx of derelicts, said Rafael Moreno, a kitchen volunteer.
A security volunteer added that the cooks felt overworked and underappreciated.
Many of those being fed are professional homeless people. They know what theyre doing, said the guard at the food-storage area.
I think there is a lesson or analogy somewhere in this story
I just cant seem to put a finger on it.
I’m reminded of that picture on Drudge yesterday of all the clutching, greedy student hands reaching out to The Massiah. Gimmee gimmee gimmee!! The rest of you scum, get outta here!
You won't give them any of your stuff, but you'll tell them how to get their own???? And you're admitting that you didn't do anything to earn your 'free' stuff?
Oh, the irony.
Now, if the people who work on Wall Street, would all go down and line up for a FREE LUNCH, that would be just Priceless.
Of course, they would have to dress down a little, (well a LOT), but they could have so much fun doing it.
Uh-uh....full-auto rubber bullets for the whole lot of them.
Isn’t this like a SF restaurant where you pay what you feel the meal is worth, or are they already paying what it is worth? ;-)
My vote goes for lead bullets.
What, they don't like that???? Hmmmmm
Fleabaggers needing their daily “bailouts” to survive.
This whole Hate America charade would have fizzled from the onset without the gushing nonstop media flood, and the doteful dupes who pour money into the MSM propaganda machine.
They would have to jump in a garbage truck first to fit in.
Rain and heading to the 30’s tonight in NYC.
We’ll see how OWS holds up as we start to get into November weather.
(Next time they’ll start the movement in May no doubt.)
Of course, I would not eat any of that garbage (literally from a dumpster) they fix, just get it and trash it. Make a dent in their food supply. ROFL.
Or Wall Street, could go out to other cities and round up a busload of the Homeless and take them out to eat. Now that's a very nice thing to do.
Hey get away from that food you lazy bum. We worked hard protesting the greedy rich and raising money for that food why should you take it for free?
OOOPs never mind
bkmk
But who would want to break bread with the OWS bunch?
This is so rich, I can not even believe it. These crybabies believe they are special because they hold degrees from a select group of universities. Thats really what this comes down to. They are not identifying with the truly down trodden. Its elitism to the nth degree. They are angry because they want a socialist world not based on merit but based on the same things Soviet elitism was based on adherence to the party platform, which would then allow you into the universities to study to top echelon programs and guaranteed placement in the top hierarchy of society simply for those reasons. It really chaffes their butts that everyday Joes who do not adhere to their ideology and never went to their bastions of liberal think can make it based on merit, skills and hard work. They want that destroyed.
The homeless will run to the shelters, the cons will run to the prisons and the hippies will run back to mommy and daddy's house. I'd then surround Zucchini Park with electrified barb wire after the hippies have vacated to prevent their return.
It wouldn't hurt them to miss a day of protesting to do their civil duty.

Thanks for this great thread, Biggirl!

Surprised my BIL hasn’t shown up at one of these events. He’s a world class moocher.
I had no idea there was a "kitchen staff" preparing free high end organic food for the NYC Occupy Wall Street Fleebaggers. You just can't make this stuff up, LOL.
