Mr. Beck, from you comments, I understand that you're against religious bigotry, and that if those comments had been made about Jews or Catholics, she would be in trouble.

Here is a screenshot taken this morning from the official website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You'll find it under the Menu item, Scriptures, Pearl of Great Price.

Wait?

All religions except the Mormons are "wrong," and their creeds are an "abomination" in the eye of God, and their rabbis, ministers, and other teachers are all "corrupt"?

Those Jews and Catholics you were worried about, plus the Methodists, and Baptists, and Hindus, and Buddhists, and Society of Friends, and Muslims, and Mennonites, and that entire list of branches of the LDS church that Else published?

Are you going to write a scolding letter to the First Presidency of the Corporation of the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for publishing those "wrong, abomination, corrupt" comments about Jews and Catholics (and everyone else) on its official website?

Mr. Beck. I defend your right to your religious beliefs. Crying "victim" in this case smells like hypocrisy to me.

/ SCRIPTURES / PEARL OF GREAT PRICE / JOSEPH SMITH-HISTORY

19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all awrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those bprofessors were all ccorrupt; that: “they ddraw near to me with their lips, but their ehearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the fcommandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the gpower thereof.”

Wait?

ALL: If you want to see the utter 2-faced hypocrisy of Mormon poster Saundra Duffy, compare Scoutmaster's post to hers in #8. She said there: This is priceless. The Freeper anti Mormons in bed with the likes of Maureen Dowd, Chris Hitchens, and Bill Maher. Just priceless.

Dowd, Hitchens and Maher have taken aim and taken all kinds of pot shots at Christianity. Maher, a former Catholic, has been ruthless on Catholics.

Per Saundra Duffy's logic then, since the very foundational vision of Mormons
-- cited by Scoutmaster above --
-- is endlessly regurgitated by Mormon writers, Mormon curricula writers, Mormon speakers, Mormon general authorities, Mormon missionaries, and Mormon grassroots...
...and it's translated into hundreds of languages with the financial wallet and purses of the likes of Saundra Duffy and Ripliancum...
...then that means these translations & regurgitations result in Saundra and Ripliancum being "in bed" with Dowd, Hitchens & Maher!

All of them heavily critique Christianity -- Mormonism to the point of calling us Christians apostates, "corrupt" professors who embrace 100% abominable creeds.

Priceless hypocrisy, Saundra! (Saundra doesn't seem to realize her own critique condemns all Mormons if that's the "standard" we are to go by!)

Bah!

That is mere paper!

Now if it's Metal on STONE; then, by golly, it MUST be true!

well, there is a difference -- that is a religious/philosophical text and the NYT is supposed to be a newspaper.

The NYT puts scurrilous things about Christianity too -- and this piece by Dowd is, well, vintage Dowd
