Ouite a few Perry fans outed their true beliefs on that thread. It’s a study in willful denial, twisting the facts, ignoring reality and using the very words, phrases and soundbytes if Liberals.
Everyone on FR needs to read that thread to understand who and what we are dealing with - here on FR and in the ‘Conservative movement as a whole. Because that movement is filled with people exactly like these and that’s why Conservatism remains so fractured.
We need to start an “Out a Lib on FR” campaign and watch how fast they scream “McCarthyism.

Yes, Texans keep electing Perry even though they know he is ethically and politically compromised. Why? Because his opposition is even worse.
Simple as that. I’m one of the reluctant voters who has kept him in office. The one bright side to his Presidential run is that maybe we can get him out of Texas.

But to say hes not popular in Texas is ridiculous. Hes never lost an election here and he won governor easily over someone who was considered a formidable candidateKaye Bailey Hutchison.
If you were familiar with Kay Bailey Hutchison, you'd know just how incompetently run her campaign was, and both her and Perry's debating skills are questionable to say the least.
In 2002, Perry had no Republican challenger. In 2006, the closest a Republican came to challenging Perry in the primaries was a secessionist who didn't even crack double digits. Perry went on to face a clown-care of candidates in the general election and ran away with 39% of the vote. In 2010, he faced Hutchison and then a Clinton insider in the general election that he was able to avoid debating. These Presidential primaries are the toughest competetion Perry has ever had and it's clearly showing.

The only winner last night was the DNC and Obama. It started out as a dog pile on Herman Cain, and then Gov. Perry started tearing at Gov. Romney which started a pretty good feud. It appeared that Gov. Perry was trying to salvage his floundering campaign by being fiesty, but I doubt whether it won him many converts. There were too many people egging him on saying it was do or die time. The one who was damaged the least was Newt because he tried to stay above the fray and no one went after him because he is not a major player. If our candidates keep it up Obama will be looking at a second term.
This is the best post in this thread, although I think Obama will only win if Romney is the nominee. Anybody else will beat Obama.

Thank you for that post. Those harpies here on FR (along with about five odd males) are just beyond over the top with their snide attitudes.

because you need proof of citizenship to get a TXDLReally? So most of the players on the Dallas Stars caan't get a Texas DL despite earning millions in the state and owning million dollar homes in the state?
I call BS.

"So they keep electing Perry? That doesn't add up." Texas is a Republican/Conservative state. We either elect a full blown Democrat or the RINO (Perry). It's a matter of limited choice.

The Paul poll was from July 15, per the article. Was it not?

The comment I quoted was from the July 15 poll showing Paul ahead of Perry and showing their questionable methods. I hope it is true, but I don’t want to see everyone get all excited about what could be just noise and end up all doom and gloom if the next, more reputable poll shows something different.

If we’re going to allow foreigners in this country, i.e., visa and green card holders, it makes sense.

If were going to allow foreigners in this country, i.e., visa and green card holders, it makes sense.Absolutely. I lived in Canada for seven years and had a New Brunswick driver's license. I just had to show my visa for proof of residency.

I was excited to see him come on national stage, I was hoping he’d be the anti-Romney. But two of my very good friends are ultra-conservative Texans and they were dead set against Perry for similar reasons to you.
