Yes, Texans keep electing Perry even though they know he is ethically and politically compromised. Why? Because his opposition is even worse.
Simple as that. I’m one of the reluctant voters who has kept him in office. The one bright side to his Presidential run is that maybe we can get him out of Texas.
It will be "interesting" here to say the least if Perry and Dewhurst both win their elections.
