Kartographer was the first to alert us to these coming price increases, it is the beef prices and possible shortages included in this article that caught my eye.

I’m buying a case of Jiff a week. The exp date is mid 2013. I understand that a certain strain hit hardest is the only kind used in peanut butter.

Sam's Club still has 6 pound cans of Peter Pan for $7.98 but expect the price to jump soon.
Where I live that price is a bargain - much less per ounce than even the generics in the grocery stores.

"Americans eat about 1.5 million pounds of peanut products annually."

That should read "1.5 billion pounds ...".

Another nail in the coffin of Baraq’s re-election.

A year from now, most people will be calling 2007 the “good old days”

Supply and demand works, granted...but it was already going up.

In any case, I've done my bit to lessen the supply!
