Romney has had a big boost from the Republican establishment, which decided a while back he's the serious candidate with a chance of beating President Obama.
The establishment also decided that upending Texas Gov. Rick Perry's chances is the best way to ensure a Romney victory, since none of the other candidates in the race are very serious and the establishment utterly failed in coaxing NJ Gov. Chris Christie into the race.
Cain and Romney are also buddies. Cain endorsed Romney last time around and Romney finds various ways to praise Cain, even going so far as telling a NH crowd the other day that they could feel comfortable voting for him OR Cain.
Cain is in a position to play kingmaker, throwing his support to Romney at a critical juncture and putting him over the top, especially if the lower level right-wingers (Bachmann, Santorum) continue to hang around and leech out some of Perry's Tea Party support.
When you put all these factors in with Republicans' traditional habit of putting in the candidate they consider most electable, even if they're not thrilled about him, a la John McCain, itâs very difficult to see how Romney doesn't win the nomination.

Thank You! :o)
Cain had a radio show and had run for senate.
MANY people (including a HUGE fraction of FR) were supporting Romney as the better alternative to McCain.
Cain did what many did. He tried to pick the lesser evil.
I didn’t say it. The article said it and you Cain supporters need to know what is being said about him. I certainly hope this is not true. Cause we’ll all be in a fix if this happens, and this is true.
“The MSM is simply ignoring Cain. They are attacking Perry and annointing Romney. They are selecting our candidate again.....remember McCain????? The best opportunities for conservatives are being dderailed by the left. What a shame.”
There is an alternative to letting Romney have it.
You could avoid splitting the conservative vote by supporting Cain.
Just sayin’.

Are you a Romney supporter? You are a newbie and every one is suspect today.
Some boost. Mittens is still under 30% no matter how hard they spin. The bigger issue is the fact that Perry is consistently underwhelming in all events he is involved in. This guy needs to turn up the heat and get this thing done. What is he waiting for?
You want us to support Cain who is in the tank for Romney?
Nope, I’m a former Palin and current Cain supporter. And despite the failed narrative of the Perrywinkles, Cain is not running to be Myth’s VP, as he has overtaken him in the polls.
Who is your guy Noob? I can’t tell since you have only been here 10 seconds. Calling out Perry as a non Conservative is a bunch of left wing BS.
I know you didn't say it. I was just stating my thoughts about what you posted.

Cain. The guy who didn’t call me heartless for not wanting to subsidizing criminals, AND the most conservative candidate in the race, AND the most electable candidate in the race.
Romney and Cain are tag-teaming against Perry.
Romney and Cain are on the same team:
“You know Herman Cain is a terrific guy and — give him a good look,” Romney said of the former chief executive of Godfather’s Pizza. “I’m not going to try to convince you that my private-sector experience is better than his.”

If you know Perry’s actions vs his words.
RINO implies also that someone give lip service to conservative causes but governs left.
Like in-state tuition to illegal immigrants, or executive order to vaccinate 12 year old girls for a condition that is sexually transmitted, or trying to sell Texas lands to a foreign corporation (trans-texas corridor).
If you live in Texas, there’s been a lot not to like about Perry.
A lot of people who voted for him did no holding their nose, and the Dems have run no serious candidate. That’s the only reason he’s still in office in Texas.
Let us hope it isn’t true. It is so troubling to me...the last thing any of us want is Romney as the nominee. And this continues to make the rounds. Cain doesn’t have the money or organization to run and win the nomination. That is a fact.
Ever heard of Ms. Joann Fleming she is a Tea Party Coalition Leader and has let Perry know that he has unfinished business on sanctuary city bill in TX,the press conference was on Thursday. He is getting attacked by Tea Party conservatives for his long trail of Hispandeering politics and do-nothingisms on illegal immigration.
That’s your prerogative. So what will you do when Cain wins the nomination? Sulk that all the supposed “Romney supporters” got him elected (you know, despite Cain being the nominee) and write in Perry?
Cain is a fine man and a Conservative too. My only misgiving on him is wanting to institute a national sales tax. That is going to be a real heart break when the Rats take over again. 9% today is 40% tomorrow.
Might as well face it folks. We got NO electable conservative running. The cause is lost. Unless Trump can pull a rabbit out of his hat, we are toast again.
