Just in the last few years I discovered that I am not a Republican. The only Democrat I ever voted for was Pete Geren, a Texas Dem. I’m a conservative that happens to vote Republican. The Eastern elites are destroying the party and I want nothing to do with it. The Tea Party has thrown a large wrench in their machinery.

" The Tea Party has thrown a large wrench in their machinery."It certainly has! If I could register as a Conservative, I'd drop the Republican party like a bad habit.

Yep, I think of myself as more as an anti-Democrat than a Republican.

Same here. After 30 years as a Republican I recently registered as an Independent. It was hard to do at first but now I’m happy I did.

I used to almost get embarrased when the GOP would call and the Wife answered the phone, needless to say they call no more.

Years ago I considered myself a Republican. Then I shed that and called myself a conservative. Now all kinds of people are called conservative who I consider RINOs. So I call myself a Constitutionalist.
