Bernard Goetz became famous for his Dec. 1984 jaw dropping 5 shot quick fire response to four black assailants in a Manhattan subway car with his unlicensed .38 caliber J frame Smith and Wesson revolver.
Goetz hit all four of the youths who, when the shooting occurred on that NY City # 2 train, had fourteen criminal bench warrants against them.
Q: Based on what youve been through between Dec.22nd 1984 and today, if you were faced with the same situation now would you shoot them again and how would you have acted differently?
If I was carrying a gun, in the same situation I would do the same thing, namely shoot as many as I can as quickly as I can. The reason for this is because they were almost on top of me. When Troy Canty was asked how close he came to me, he said I could have touched his face.
Q: How did you manage to get out of the train and get to the next station in one piece when you escaped? Running on the subway tracks is no big deal. I did that as a teenager and so have many others.
Q: Recently weve seen flash mobs stealing in stores and beating innocent people. Do you believe there are now thousands of Bernard Goetzs out there who are about to stand up for their rights but on a more massive scale than weve ever dreamed?
25 years ago my main concern was violent crime and 2nd amendment rights, but Im not concerned with that now. If another mass shooting of criminals happens again it probably wont be in New York, but in a high crime area like Detroit, Chicago....

And I bet he would blast them again.
Wow, that was 1984? Seems like only a few years ago.
Poor Bernie. He was everyone’s hero until the foul-mouthed, racist yellow journalist, Jimmy Breslin went after him.
Bring it “flash mobs”. We’re tired of waiting. Get your sh*t together on Internet and start hitting every store close to you. The police can’t do anything when you take just seconds to get in and out when they are minutes away. Just do it. Then cry like babies when someone shoots you in the scrotum. I’ll come and visit with flowers in hand. However, the card will say “Cool. You lost part of your anatomy. It’s all good! Bye”.
With the rise in violent, flash-mob tactics of the urban yutes, Bernhard may need to stand his ground again. That’ll get the thugs’ attention.
Hell YES!!!
He did the same thing I would have done, but a lot faster than him.........Just saying.
Love that photo! Thank you. Looked for it a while back and couldn’t find it. Now in my archives for future use.
Years ago I literally clapped at that ending scene and still feel the same.
You can call him up at his business if you go ogle “Vigilante Electronics.”
I seem to recall at least on of his shots was gratuitous, something like: “You don’t look so bad, here’s another”
To do that once is nuts to have not repented after all this time is sad.
Just watched Taken on TV smiled all though it as the bad guys went down the way they lived.....but the one in the electic chair was my favorite.....don’t talk to them, just shoot them...Good movie on a fathers love for his daughter...he’d die for her and so would the one’s that took her...
Watched it last month.
Felt the same way, but would have electrocuted his coconuts instead of just leaving him the way he did.
By the way, when the final scene came up in the bedroom of the boat, I had a sense of deja vu there. Is this movie a remake or was this scene similar to another movie?
“An interview with Bernard Goetz: Yes, he would shot them again!”
Mr. Goetz knows what a deterrent to animal behavior is.
Bump.
I don’t know if its a remake or not..could be....now that was a violent movie with a reason for the violence..:O)
Was given a new idenity and lived happily ever after with his daughter...I love a happy ending...
He is still a hero, the Left can’t change that.
