I have come across a piece which looks like a Mayan death mask, anyone know much about this type of possible artifact?

Well, based on your picture it appears to be a pure white mask on a snowy background, so it must be the Swedish Mayans... ;)

Would love to see it, how about a picture. I am also interested as the family has owned a jade mask for generations.

Interesting. I have no idea how to even begin to tell if something like that is real or not but I do know that you can go down to the mercados in Mexico and see a lot of stuff like this being sold to tourists.

I have, that’s why I was looking for a freeper who is into this kind of stuff.

Lots of messo-american art has been faked for years. Why would somebody put up such a low starting bid? If real, its worth thousands $$$. Now that it has gotten special attention some central american government will want it back as a stolen national treasure, and will call the State Dept. and have it confiscated.

Looks like an ancient Obama death mask. Not Mayan. Half Olmec. Half something else.

Was this it?
