Here’s the latest from WingRight.org, with the “short version” of the Governor’s strong record on border security.
Again, thank you, casinva for all the hard work you’ve done.
He's a hispanderer and unless we agree with him we're heartless.........
Sheesh...get with the program would ya.
You forget our long heritage here in Texas.
It would do you good to read the article, check out the real-time sources, rather than use words like “hispanderer.”
I agree with you!
...Perry is wonderful... at blaming others.
He could have led the way, and done what AZ, OK,
and now Alabama have done.
...and, notice above, the LONG list of great things,
since June 2011 ?
...WHY didn’t he do all that, 5 years ago?
instead, waiting until he decided to run for President?
he’s just another career politician, who will say whatever is necessary, (or switch to whichever party...) to win.
and i will NEVER vote for an “evangelcial” who quotes from the Quran and praises Islam !!!
I've read a lot on this immigration issue concerning Perry, it's the main reason I can't support him. His record is not good, his recent pronouncements during the debates show his record is in cement and is hardly a conservative one.
Most conservatives don't like his record or what he's saying, it's why he's tanking in the polls.
and i’ve admitted before, Perry has many good points.
but instead of telling us about those,
the Perry supporters, insist on trying to erase the bad.
at least C. Wife, admitted that Gardisil was a mistake.
HER, i respect. at least that is being honest.
Perry has a great record on jobs, and many other things.
but Perry isn’t strong on border security, by a LONG shot !
These are not my words alone. These are years and years of real news reports and press releases from the Governor’s office.
Yes, I used more reports from recent years. However, the links go back to 2005. As I said, this is the short version.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

and hopeless whiners!
Link to a report on recent active taking place on the border by Perry's Texas Rangers Recon Teams
WESLACO Answering a smattering of gunshots with a 300-round barrage should show drug runners - their inflatable rafts full of illegal contraband - that Texas law enforcement officers aren't messing around, authorities said.
He said a single shot against a U.S. law enforcement officer is "one too many."
"We are going to use overwhelming force. We're going to use tactics ... You shoot a law enforcement officer, you're going to get return fire," he said. snip....
A Freeper who lives in the valley, has said thank God for Governor Perry. IF it wasn't for his actions we'd been over run and killed by now by the drug cartel. Freeper said...those blacks hawks come so low over our house they rip the shingles right off our roof.
This is the fence the feds have built.
This fence should make us all feel safe./s

Thank you for the advice!
Thanks for the bump and the pings!
Providing benefits to people who are here illegally only encourages more. You would only do that if you are not concerned with the fact that they are not supposed to be here. Instead you you reward them?
I think he also denied any TTC or if there was a Trans Texas Corridor under way, he was not involved in it. Anyone on FR beleive that?
The integration of Texas Rangers, Guardsmen, Border Sheriffs and communication and aviation assets is one of the more innovative of Governor Perry's approaches to border security. These programs date back to at least 2005 and I believe some elements were implemented even earlier by the Governor.
Which begs the question, is it the role of a state like Texas, or Indiana, or Massachsetts for that matter, to use it's limited monetary and precious human treasure to defend itself against foreign invaders? If we truly are a Representative Constitutional Republic, the answer should be No! But in the case of Texas the answer has to be yes, if survival is to matter.
Had the Federal Government respected the Constitutional imperative to secure and defend our borders, this burden that has now fallen on the people of Texas could have been lightened considerably and ideally eliminated completely.
Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Those who profess to be staunch conservatives claim to be appalled. Isn't it ironic that the Governor of Texas would become the target of those who claim to demand secure borders?
We deal with reality here in Texas, that’s why we’ve been trying increase security at the border and have attempted time and again to get the Federal government to do its job.
Since the Feds force us to educate the children of illegal aliens, we end up with young 17 and 18 year olds who have lived here at least 3 years, who graduate from our high schools while living with their illegal alien parents, and who get admitted to college. As a State, we decided in 2001 and again in 2005 to allow an exception to the non-resident tuition for these achievers.
I’ve never seen anything with the Governor denying that he supported TTC.Do you have a source on that denial?
I have seen Wayne Christian’s explanation about how the Governor changed course on TTC.

I suspect that the people ‘targeting’ Perry, even on FR, have little knowledge of his actions and have done no research what-so-ever. They’ve read the inflammatory headlines and off they go. They seem to do this because he’s not their “preferred” candidate so they don’t bother with the facts.
