I take your point. Honestly, I don't think Perry could be capable of doing this because arguing to fix Plyler would truly be a CONSERVATIVE position.

(I think a good candidate could fit this into a 20 second soundbite without ever having to say "Plyler").

I bring this up because I've been reading the debates here and how his allies keep talking about how Rick Perry will be the cat's meow on ending illegal entry if only he could get elected. He couldn't do that as Gov, you see, because his hands were tied (and that's why we should ignore is awful record on illegals).

OK. Here's the fix. IF Perry is such a staunch opponent of illegal occupation, then here's how he can both show that, and get his campaign back on track.

Until he does SOMETHING, he'd toast. Gov. Perry cannot recover if he continues to defend his awful record on illegals.

Instead, he needs to take his rhetoric (the FedGov made me do it) to the next level and explain how he'd direct the FedGov to UNDO it.
