Watching his soundbites it seems like he has the look and the personality to attract a lot of independents ...maybe dems too.

I’m not a fan but biased characterizations don’t help the anti-Christie cause. He is, in fact, very strongly against abortion (now) and gay marriage. The global warming I will concede, as a fiscal conservative there is just no indication he would impose a massive government solution such as cap and trade.

Poll: Gov. Chris Christie's approval rating increased drastically since May

Gov. Chris Christie's approval rating has increased dramatically since he signed the pension and health benefit overhaul for public workers and publicly led the state through Hurricane Irene. A Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll released this morning shows 54 percent of New Jersey voters approve of Christie's performance, while 36 percent disapprove. That's up from a 44 percent even split in May.

He has what it takes to smoke Obama in a debate with his quick wit and fast come-backs - the things that made him so popular with Northeasterners. That would be a gas to watch. But as a President the Conservative Credentials are just not there. He would be a McCain with Attitude.

” Theres a fatman, in the bathtub...”

Every time somebody brings up Christy, that Little Feat song jumps into my head. Crazy, man, crazy.

Seems like I recall him being on vacation at the time?

Oh, my bad. He phoned it in from the golf links in Florida during the blizzard this past winter. For the hurricane, such as it was, he was in a "command center" in the state police headquarters, very similar to what Obama did.

Christie/Rubio would win in a landslide whether you want to accept it or not.

Ok with building the NY City Mosque, appoints a Muslim judge, pro gun control, pro abortion. Need I go on? There is no way conservatives will vote for Crispy Cream.

Romney and Huntsman would also win in landslides with Rubio as the VP.

I prefer Huntsman over romney if I had to chose between those two. Huntsman is smarter, more well rounded, and more honest about his positions, whether you agree with him or not.

Ren/Stimpy would win in a landslide over Obama/Biden at this point. Doesn't mean I want to vote for them in the primary.

The beautiful thing about Christie is that he could nominate himself for V.P. too and get away with it.

I would vote for Vandersloot / BTK Killer over Obama 2012 at this point.

Definitely. Jon is the only candidate with the right mix of business, executive, and foreign policy experience to bring this country back to prosperity. Huntsman was also a superior governor in many ways while Romney was terrible to the people of Massachusetts.

What he needs now is a full throttle media blitz to overcome the worst name recognition in the GOP.
