18 year olds are not children - they are adult foreign nationals who need to repatriate and follow the rules. Get it? IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
We passed a law this year to prevent illegals from getting drivers licenses.
The schooling from k-12 is mandated by the Feds. The refusal to deport even criminals is the decision of the feds. Even when they’re caught with faked or stolen ID’s.
When we catch them stealing someone’s identification in Texas, we put them in jail, at our expense.

It would be better to stop their parents at the border, deport the whole family before they complete one, much less 3 years of school. But the Feds aren’t doing that.

A little advice, start by acknowledging Perry's flawed stance on illegal immigration, the pandering. Then tell why we should ignore the 800 pound burro in the room. A little honesty would go a long way,
And it's not honest of you to cut the sentence without noting that you've done so.
The guest worker program would start in Mexico, it would not give permanent residency status. It would be tied to a job.
Take a look at the rest of that sentence, the rest of that paragraph and the rest of that section of the speech:

Perry says he wants to "legitimize the economic contributions" of the illegals. THOSE ARE PEOPLE WORKING HERE NOW!! Not people in Mexico considering coming to the US to work.
We have seen it over and over again, the "open borders" crowd will tell any lie to support their system.
I most certainly did NOT “cut the sentence” to leave off words at the end. This IS the entire sentence from Perry.

There is nothing more to the sentence after the words “citizenship status.”
First you say there is no law preventing ILLEGAL aliens from seeking citizenship, or at least you couldn't find one in you 'scan' of a website.
I then posted the law, with link, proving ILLEGAL aliens cannot seek citizenship.
Then you make some absurd claim that exceptions are made completely ignoring both your original intent to rely on law (in which you failed) and the quotes from the law that I provided to you.
If there is any gibberish on this page it has come from you. But I understand you are in an untenable position as you have clearly been proven wrong.

The in state tuition is a result of Federal incompetence and neglect. We live with this, every day.

“Crossing the border legally to work” would imply that they have to be on the Mexico side to start.

Bowing to pressure from interest groups in favor of unchecked illegal immigration , the Obama administration has instead issued new requirements intended to curtail the program by making it more expensive, amoung other things. So the Federal government is now manipulating successful programs to stop willing local jursdictions from doing the federal government’s job themselves.

As to “knowing who is crossing the border legally to work” that is ambiguous, because all of the illegals working here now crossed the border at one time and Perry may be saying nothing more than if we had his guest worker program in place, then we would know today just who all these illegals are.
I think the more telling phrase is “legitimizing their economic contributions” since people living in Mexico now and thinking of coming to the US obviously are not making any “economic contribution” that needs to be “legitimized.”
The kids of illegal parent(s) technically committed no crime so I believe they are eligible as a special case.
Perry is not a big supporter of amnesty.
Perry wants the border sealed and that is what he would do if he were President.
Your angry should be pointed to the Federal Government and not Perry. Perry, nor Texas, nor Texans, nor any other border state can do the job the Federal Government is suppose to be doing.

The children of illegal immigrants don't need the Texas Dream Act, they automatically get "in-state tuition rates" since they were born on U.S. soil and given citizenship at birth.
The Texas Nightmare Act allows illegal immigrants themselves, those who were born in another nation and who ENTERED the U.S. UNLAWFULLY, entrance to any Texas state school at in-state tuition rates.
If you don't have a problem with that when thousands of American students in the other 49 states can't afford to go to college in Texas because they don't have access to "in-state tuition rates", go ahead and vote for Ricky.
I'm on the side of the 81% of americans who oppose this law.
