But he will be toast when people find out Perry is for amnesty for the illegals (he would give the illegals working here “guest worker” status allowing them to live here legally).

Which is the same stance as Sarah Palin.

Look, as Mark Levin said tonight, I would vote for either Perry or Romney in the general election over Obama.

Let me be clear.
ANY CITIZEN can get IN STATE Tuition IF they can qualify as a resident.

Perry has extended this notion to children “who through no fault of their own” we raised in Tx by illegal parents and, who meet certain high bars that other residents need not meet.

It is his opinion that this places less fiscal demand on the populous at large and is beneficial to the state in general.

Perry and the vast majority of the legislature agreed with only 4 descenting votes.

Let me remind you, these people have no control over FEDERAL immigration law.
They are dealing with the cards they are given.

“Chris Christie could change everything.”

Yep. If he jumps in, Huntsman’s support will be cut in half.

Are we electing a President or a Priest?

Everyone has baggage.

Unfortunately Jesus of Nazareth is not on the ballot.

Still keeping my powder dry for 2012...

>>> C. Edmund Wright is typical of many of the Perry backers (including builders, poultry processors and grocery owners): as long as I can benefit from illegal immigrants I couldn’t care less how it negatively affects the country.>>>

That is very misguided. You cannot say that builders, grocery owners and poultry processors benefit from this labor and then say that their customers — ie all consumers — don’t benefit as well. Consumers set the price of any good or service, not businesses. The businesses then have to figure out a way to meet that price or go out of business.

So actually, anyone who has ever shopped for any good or service based on price has benefitted from cheap labor, be it legal or illegal.

And you can’t assume that I ever hired illegals, because I ran all of my labor through a third party HR firm to vet them.

More to the point, it is the non working illegals here soaking up benefits that are killing us. it is the crime gangs that are killing us. It is the continued hand outs and the continued weak border incenting this behavior that is killing us.

An economy that has evolved over 50 years with consumers and businesses and labor ALL HAVING AN IMPACT ON IT is not what is killing us.

Ive always been in favor of the eventual nominee.
Obama is UNACCEPTABLE.

I just cant abide people twisting Perrys record just because he had a poor performance.

I cant help that the guy floundered last night but I sure can help minimize the spreading of lies and half truths.

Remember, even if Perry is not the nominee, we damage the party if we paint him unfairly

Sarah knows Romney is not going anywhere. She is preparing her upcoming battles with the elites. She will crush them all.

I admire your confidence. I wished I shared it.

I'd be glad to see Sarah run, and would be glad to vote for her. I have doubts about her ability to win; I don't think she appeals to those precious swing voters that shifted Virginia and North Carolina to Barry's column in 2008. A big part of her problem with swing voters is women, who voted for Barry by sizeable margins last time around.

If she decides to run, her time to declare is rapidly dwindling. Romney will have sucked up the money and the polling lead if she waits too long.

Supply and demand is pure, different notions of what’s fair or what’s healthy is not.

Labor supply and demand is pure, where the field is level.

Add millions of benighted poverty stricken illiterates from a kleptocracy like mexico and suddenly the model is hopelessly skewed. Those that fit into the model before can no longer compete.

And the health of the nation is very much a reality. We are watching the state go broke and illegal immigration is a big part of the reason why. Those who profited from their inclusion bear a big part of the blame.

Romney answers a question on Perry’s remarks about Romneycare being a socialist failure, with Perry responding by hitting Romney over his flip-flops. The problem is, to quote @rsmccain, it turned into a “resist we much” moment for Perry:

The lackluster stumbling starts at around 1:28 into the clip:

I'm with you on that - so is Perry.

The instate tuition is PAID by these students who have been here all their lives.

We simply need to end all hand-outs to all illegals. They need to sink or swim on their own.

That is our beef right? That we are paying for their support? So, we stop supporting them.

Do you deny that what you posted as “Law” was in fact a filing in court?

BTW did IRCOT win that lawsuit?

Question: "Is Perry Finished?"

Answer: No.

Comment: However, one more performance like last night and he will be finished as a viable candidate. He has lost my support due to his stance on immigration. If he hardens his position on that vital issue I could "return to the fold."

Do you deny that this is a filing by IRCOT.
It is not a listing of actual law.

It is an opinion,or argument, and a poor one at that.

Christie can not even manage his own weight, so how is he going to run the country?

He also supports the unholy mosque at Ground Zero.

Compared to Gov Palin he is a liberal left winger.

And his weight is certainly not off the table, not to mention he uses helicopters for baseball trips.

He is Ok for Jersey but that`s it.

Gov Sarah Palin or bust

I agree with that, but unless he retracts the "no heart" line, he will receive from me "no vote" in the primary.

My son is in a 7th grade classroom with 49 other students. They all have to share textbooks and a dozen have to stand up because there aren’t enough desks.

This is L.A., CA where EVERY election there is a bond measure on the ballot to dole out more funds to alleviate this. EVERY election I’ve seen in the 28 years I’ve been here and they PASS every time.

Over half of the students in LAUSD are illegal.

California is over $25 billion in debt.

Turn them away and they will stop coming. This is what EVERY OTHER NATION ON THE PLANET DOES—ESPECIALLY MEXICO ITSELF!!!

It is up to the PEOPLE of Mexico to make it a better place to live. We send enough money and factories down there to help.

>>> Those who profited from their inclusion bear a big part of the blame. >>>

That would include anyone who ever consumed a salad, had their grass cut, dealt with a business who did, stayed in a hotel or motel, etc etc etc.

Consumers run the economy and dictate the prices that will be paid for goods and services. That’s my point. This whole system is so ingrained in our economy at every level that literally everyone in the nation has participated in it.

I’m not saying it’s good or it’s right - I am just saying that it is and that unwinding it will be far far more complicated than most people realize and it will negatively impact everyone.

And by supply and demand being pure, I didn’t mean pure “in spirit” or fairness, I meant it happens period. America had a demand for labor that outstripped her supply. Mexico had a supply of labor for which their economy had no demand. And there was a porous border. So the supply and demand was allowed to do what it does - which is to work itself out.

I hate that we have had a porous border for 50 years. Without that, the entire supply and demand situation would have played out totally differently than it has. But it has.
