Michelle Obama, the most glamorous of all U.S. First Ladies, dazzled the crowd at a DNC fundraiser Tuesday night wearing over $42,000 worth of diamond bracelets ($42,150 to be precise). Designed by Katie Decker, a 23-year-old Texas-based jeweller, the First Lady dropped a few dimes on some serious bling:
(Daily Mail) - The First Lady, 47, chose to wear Miss Decker's Lotus cuff, with 2.9 carats of diamonds, costing $15,000, the Gothic cuff with 2.17 carats of diamonds, costing $15,350, and the $11,800 Quatrefoil bracelet with 1.73 carats of diamonds to the Gotham Hall event.
Damn, for that kind of money - and all the publicity Ms. Decker is about to receive - the Obama's better hope they will be getting a little kickback for Barack's 2012 campaign. Just look at that endorsement:
She might as well change her name to Simon Cowell and slightly turn her hand every time she takes a sip of Coca-Cola (Ahem, I mean Pepsi).
I have been hearing “optics” more lately.. When did we drop “appearance” and “image” and start saying “optics”. no offense to you of course.. meh.

It is bling well befitting the ‘hood except if it were literally in he ‘hood it would probably be rhinestones and gold plate so as not to be all that tempting a theft target.
Doesn’t the “Queen” have any side enterprises such as selling autobiographies or charging to speak to audiences, by which she might have legitimately raised the funds? She holds no Constitutional office, and thus is free to do things Barack could not.
Think she’ll return the loaners to the jewelry store, or will she try to rip them off like some of those klepto Hollywood actresses?
Her hope has turned out to be more than chump change.
Who knows how it came into her possession and it may be sponsor product placement for all we know.

Loaned or not, it looks terrible—unthinking, unfeeling, uncaring—when so many Americans are suffering (which makes them happy, I know.)

That hug looks weird. Maybe she just hugged him or was about to, but it looks like she doesn’t want to smudge her nails.
I just started noticing that myself. I would say within the last 12 months. I heard a lawyer use it back in March, that was the first tine I really noticed it enough to remember that I heard it.
