Ruidoso NM: Mayor bans firearms on public property. Citizens arm themselves(NM)

Mayor bans firearms on public property. Citizens arm themselves, come to city council meeting and disobey the order.

At one guy even slung an AR. Of course Larry Pratt and Bob Wright are in the middle of the resistance. Bob reports the cops were "VERY, VERY polite." With at least 80 armed citizens in the room that was probably a good idea.

A comment from the site:

"The mayor has exceeded his authority. New Mexico does not prohibit the carrying of firearms in City Hall buildings."

Let me guess, the mayor is a DEMOCRAT?

You know what they say about “Superior Fire Power”.

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

That has to be the best under-statement of the year

In the video at the original website, the Mayor seems very concerned about his own physical safety. He’s afraid someone with a gun would come in and shoot all of them, the Mayor and the board members. What he seems to miss is that the only thing to stop a shooter that might come into the chambers is another person with a gun to stop him.

Can you imagine what would have happened if a bad guy with a gun came into that room with 80 armed citizens in there with him? Or even one or two other armed citizens in there. The guy would be turned into a salt and pepper shaker, riddled with holes. If a shooter knows others in the same room are armed, it greatly decreases the odds that someone would choose to start a gunfight by even coming in that room in the first place. And if he did, he’d more than likely end up wounded or dead. Would give even a bad guy pause.

That is exactly why we citizens must retain our 2nd Amendment rights, and exercise them. When we do, our elected representatives and their designees are polite. When we don't, we can expect to be completely subjugated.

I can hear you liberal lurkers out there scoffing at the idea. "Not here! What a paranoid fool." Well, in this regard I absolutely 100% guarantee you I am correct, and it is you that are the fool(s). Naive fools, if you think it cannot, and would not happen here.

You are right. Being around armed people - sober, rational, trained armed people - is actually safer. No reasonably sane person is going to start anything, and if they do, it will end quickly. You are safest when armed, and when in the company of people who are armed. When you are not, you are the designated target/victim.

Absolutely!

I buy my guns and ammo at Ace Sporting in Washington, PA where every employee and many customers are carrying {openly}.

Bad guys are never on their "bad behavior" when/if they enter this place.

It's just like being at home, safe in your bed, with your S & W 357 Magnum in your bed stand and your 20" double barrel 12 gauge loaded with 00 buckshot under the bed.

Peace of mind comes with protection.

I wonder what he is feeling so guilty about? It is common for anti-freedom types to project there own motivations onto others.
