Ping
As a Christian Woman, and a Dog “owner”, I applaud that wonderful article.
Great photo.
Extremely well said and 100% on the money. Great post.
From what I understand, The “Religion of peace” hates (at least) the following:
Dogs
Women
Humor
Trees
Jewish People
Christians
America
Israel
BBQ
Toilet Paper.
I have no use for such people.
and that is one generous use of the word “people” on your part...
LOL.
I left out another thing these “people” hate:
World Cultural Heritage Sites. (Such as The Afghan Buddahs, Luxor, etc, The Temple Mount, etc)
“LOL...I can pretty well assure you that the members of the ping list who come check out this thread will catch it :-)”
Excellent! :)

The average dog has virtues in some areas no saint has ever approached
The more moslems I know, the more I like my dogs.
Intersting story and beautiful thread. Thanks for posting and thanks for the ping from Joe 6 pack.
Do you suppose that the Afghan dogs are sensitive to the smell of the Afghan people because of what they eat? This would be in contrast to the soldiers who are probably eating MREs.
I had a neighbor in the Houston area who had a rather intimidating Airedale terrier. The dog was fine with us and allowed my kids to feed him when my neighbor was out of town. But, he absolutely hated the meter reader from ENTEX, who happened to be black. My neighbor’s gas usage was not monitored (just estimated) for as long as he owned that dog.
A lot of people will incorrectly interpret their dog's reaction to certain cues and conclude, "My dog is racist," or, "My dog hates the mailman."
What typically happens is that the mailman, meter reader, etc. will approach the residence. The dog barks, the mailman delivers the mail, then moves on. While the mailman is just going to his next delivery, the dog interprets this as having prompted the mailman's retreat by barking. It gets reinforced daily (in the case of the mailman) or monthly (in the case of the meter reader). I would wager that your neighbor's Airedale may hve barked at you early on, but never succeeded in forcing you to retreat from your property, and as he grew accustomed to you, and familiar with you, never saw the need to challenge you as you approached.
All I know is that I witnessed more than one meter reader VAULTING the the side fence into my yard with “Ben” in hot pursuit.
Mostly my boys took care of that dog, but one day my daughter had to cover for her little brother who was away at camp. I was inside and I heard a distant wailing coming from outside.
“Mom, mom, help.” There was my daughter pinned at the back door with big, ole Ben standing in front of her with his front paws on her shoulders.
She was upset because she was on her way to work and Ben had rubbed his muddy paws all over her white pants. She had to change and might be late.
Ben wasn’t going to tear her throat out. Just wanted to say hello. But that was not the way he went after the ENTX men.
I meant to add that people will smell different depending on their diet. I think that dogs pick up to that. Back to the Afghan dogs — the Muslim diet would be quite different from that of the soldiers and the Marines. If dogs can detect diabetes, epilepsy, and cancer with their noses, I have no doubt that they can tell the difference between someone who ets MREs and someone who consumes a traditional Middle Eastern diet.
I know from personal experience that dogs can detect fear and will go after someone who exudes fear. They will leave someone who is comfortable with dogs alone.
Concur with all you say.
See my profile page for Kurt’s story.

“Muslims believe that an angel cannot enter a home when a dog is inside”
How funny.
Other civilizations believe that dogs can see the Devil and warn their owners.
Old Twilight Zone ep “The Hunt” revolves around how a man will walk wide-eyed into Hell but even the Devil can’t fool a dog.

“I have no doubt that they can tell the difference between someone who ets MREs and someone who consumes a traditional Middle Eastern diet.”
That sounds plausible, but it may not work. Just last night I saw a program of the “History Detectives” on PBS. They investigated a top secret experiment conducted by our military in 1942 shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. They tried to train dogs to locate Japanese soldiers in the jungle by scent alone. The project was canceled after a trial that failed, and modern military dog trainers said the dogs cannot differentiate between races based on scent alone.
If I ever get a Doberman, I’ll name him Mohammed bin Satan.
