Boston Red Sox to parents:If you hold traditional values on homosexuality and kids, you're a hater

The Red Sox by now certainly understand why people are upset about their public support for the vulgar, homosexual website "It Gets Better". Over the last three weeks the organization has been flooded with complaints -- many of them quite descriptive -- via phone, email, and US mail. We have personally talked to their representatives and explained in detail what that site entails. We also mailed a fairly descriptive letter to the Red Sox vice president of public relations.

But instead of doing the right thing, the reaction by the Red Sox has been to dig in their heels.

The Red Sox people we talked to have reacted much the same way that liberal school officials, politicians, reporters, and others react. When confronted with this obscene, graphic material being presented to kids, they initially act a little shocked, but you can quickly tell that it doesn't really bother them. Sometimes they'll give lip service to "telling people higher up." But it's clear they're not particularly interested in it -- and that they think we're the kooks for pursuing it. (Does all this seem familiar?)

As a gesture of defiance, the Red Sox now have the It Gets Better video as an "Editor's Choice" on their movie page.

They've also written a rather insulting canned statement which they send to complainers as a reply. It does not address our concerns but instead accuses us of supporting "discrimination" and "acts of hatred."

My dad was a lifelong Red Sox fan (from Somerville) but was spared this fiasco by dying almost 20 years ago. I am a Yankee fan since Mickey Mantle was a rookie. I take no pleasure in this situation. I can imagine the Yanks being subject to such PC crapola as well now that Boss Steinbrenner is gone. Baseball never will see such a man’s man as Ted Williams was and thanks be to God he was spared witnessing this despicable situation as well. Francona, Varitek and Youkilis should be ashamed of their role in this fiasco. Those Sox who did not participate should not bear blame.

stop going to the games... kill stadium sales

stop watching them on tv... kill ad sales via lower ratings

start spreading the meme... taking your child to a red sox game is endorsing the exposure of children to pornography

the red sox are no longer the organization you remember... neither is Mass

Not just saying that cause Im in LA and am supposed to hate them

I really hope this never comes to LA. I can't imagine how the redoubtable Vin Scully (a pillar of decency and love of humanity) would react if the Dodgers officially came out "pro-gay".
And I miss Walter O'Malley.

Amazing, the level of surprise at this.

Let's see -- a group of wealthy, overpaid athletic actors who have limited connection with, or concept of, the real world pronounce their alignment with an agenda that the majority of their fans abhor.

They are acknowledging the economic reality that:

1. The fans who are against the team's position will generally stomp and complain, but won't actually do anything except keep coming back to pay for overpriced tickets anyway.

2. The people who support the team's agenda will increase their support for the team.

On the contrary, if you understand that homosexuality is a sexual perversion and a sin, you are bound by love to properly instruct your children. Telling the truth isn’t hate, and parent’s shouldn’t be bullied into submitting to cultural corruption by demagogs who throw around words like hate or racism. ...The people pushing the homosexual agenda on our young people are filled with hate for anyone who disagrees with them.

I’ve been a Red Sox fan all of my life. A hardcore Sox fan. NOT ANYMORE! They can kiss my @$$. My father must be spinning in his grave.

I hear you on that, I used to live in New York until my early adulthood, college, and work life called elsewhere to Maryland, and now Delaware, the local major and minor league teams have turned a similar feather as your Red Sox. Again, it’s sad how plenty of professional sports are more about political activism outright and less about entertaining us with the good plays on the field.

Who’d of thought that one group of promiscuous people, pro athletes, would side with another group of promiscuous people.

Well, as my parents instructed me, back when the agenda really seemed to take the foothold, in the 80s, it’s about specific behaviors, not the person. The important fact which I hear on the lamestream is the fact that they treat it as an identity, not as a behavior, which really distorts the argument, especially to younger individuals, about what’s okay and what’s not. When I was a kid, the whole concept confused me at first, when I innocently wondered, what’s the difference between someone who’s gay and someone who simply shares an apartment with someone of the same gender? I mean, I could live in the same house/apartment with another guy and not be gay. My parents also allowed me to sleep over only with other boys at my age, so I also was even more confused about the fact that okay, what the heck makes someone gay? I later had to learn the details of the kinds of things homosexuals do in middle school, where it got explained to me what they do, and how HIV/AIDS and other STDs are highly contagious by their behaviors, at which point the whole thing made me nauseous. Again, the sad part about this story is that loads of people aren’t interested in letting kids be as innocent, or as puzzled about the whole thing, as I was.

By the way, Youkilis and Varitek are gay lovers, I don't know if you knew that.

That 'Youkilis stance' is a dead giveaway...go Rangers!

I imagine that if you privately asked most of the players what they thought about this matter, they would be disgusted and appalled.

But, as former Massachusetts governor Mike Dukakis once said: "The fish stinks from the head". It was one of the few things about which he was ever correct.

The Red Sox majority owners are all liberal Democrats: Tom Werner, Larry Lucchino and John Henry are heavy Democrat campaign contributors and must be held responsible for approving of the team's involvement with this particular obscenity. They need to hear it - loudly - from the season ticket holders and advertisers.

Won't happen...most New Englanders are quite cozy with the gay agenda...

Yes. New Englanders are more likely to be socially liberal and tend toward a falsely-romanticized view of the gay "lifestyle". Many of them really need to look beneath the surface to see just how ingrained the Pedophile lobby has become in gay communities and how much our children are presently at risk.

In our society's sickened, morally-weakened state, "tolerance" is now a higher value than public safety or health. Consequently, many of us who used to take a "live-and-let-live" attitude toward homosexuality find that we cannot do so any longer.

Words of wisdom...I believe they KNOW what is 'under the surface', but they would rather not look under that particular rock because it would move them out of their comfort zone.

There are a lot of people around this part of the country who desperately need to be moved out of their comfort zones when it comes to the current, very real effort to "mainstream" pedophilia.

I started looking into this issue about three or four months ago, doing my own research on line, and what I discovered shocked and (speaking as a father), frightened me.

There is an active and radical movement underway among homosexual activist groups, the clinical psychological profession, American government agencies and international non-governmental organizations (UN-affiliated NGO's) to change laws regulating sexual activity between adults and minors. The mainstream media is largely ignoring these efforts (as you might expect), but I think that anyone who cares about preserving a civil, moral society ought to be aware of what is happening.

Just noticed your comment - check this article out (and some interesting comments on the thread) for the undeniable pedophilia/”gay rights” connect.

Oh, and Harry Hay was a Communist Party member too. I should add that at the link.
