Toward the beginning of his radio show today, Glenn Beck responded to an effort this past Friday by the Washington Post to smear him and his Mormon faith by means of a skewed article with an even more misleading headline (Mormon Glenn Beck: Hurricane Irene and East Coast earthquake a blessing from God,)
As discussed in an earlier article in the Philadelphia Jewish Culture Examiner space, the Post was successful if its goal was to spread the impression that Beck really believed that last weeks natural East Coast hurricane and earthquake were themselves a blessing. This is of course as opposed to what Beck actually pretty obviously -- to anyone who listened to his words without a predominating agenda -- meant, which was that there was a blessing in the need for preparedness these could-have-been-much-more-deadly disasters highlighted.
Near the very beginning of his discussion on this topic, Beck (who broadcasts on his own GBTV network and who can also be heard in the New York City area on 800 WLAD-AM) called out the Washington Posts headline, saying: So they smear immediately. Its like saying 'Jew George Hilzig says'."
Shortly thereafter, Beck, who was in Israel during much of the previous two weeks for his Restoring Courage solidarity event, said, Here I am, not playing into the fear, not telling you 'hey, freak out.' What Im saying to you is: this is a good thing because its not going to kill a lot of people, and maybe a few people will remember hey, maybe I should be a help to others..."

How sad.
Here’s a tissue.
Lol @ all the “best” of FR coming to toss stones at me.
But I have no time for the bigots and dummies in my fan club today, as it’s -
VACATION TIME OH YEAH!
So, without any further fanfare:
—Not one, single, stinking dime ever bookmark—
Make me.
You tryin’ to start a fight with me with your little pictures and names?
Maybe instead of harassing random people on the internet who were never even speaking to you to begin with, you should instead quit drinking and find a job.
Maybe your life would improve, you would be a little less angry, though I doubt it.
Anyway, you’re going to play nicely by yourself, or go tell your friends you need help or something, I got a vacation to go on, and no time to argue with a bum, so see ya.
You are so right, Glen has always come across as genuinely concerned for ALL his fellow man. Sure, sometimes his passion of his faith glimpses through into his dialog, but he has never pushed it on anybody. I didn’t even know he was Mormon for the longest time. He had at times hinted he was a Christian, but I did not know what denomination or offshoot. The first hint of it, to me, was when he started talking about preparing and stocking up on food & water (which is a good idea no matter what your beliefs may be)
I have friends of many different faiths. The secret to us all getting along is when we try to be courteous and understanding of every other person on this earth regardless of their faith or upbringing. Peace and kindness will most often follow. It’s when malice, hate and “evil intent” brings confrontation (not honest debate) into social discourse that leads us off the issues and into distracting, almost calculated wastes of time.
And time now is short now is short, when all constructive honesty is need in discussing the important issues of the day.
I find it kind of ironic that you have been calling me stupid all day, yet I have to educate you.
I used to think that you were a colossal pain in the neck. Now I have a much lower opinion of you. I'll bet kindergarten was the best three years of your life eh?
Maybe you should leave FR since you despise it so much. We can't miss you till you're gone.

I can’t help that you can’t understand simple sentences. I’ve tried to assist you in understanding, but those efforts were met by someone who refuses to be assisted, because he wishes to see what he wants to see.
All god, Godzilla, and no I won’t be leaving FR, but you can miss me while I’m on vacation if you like.
Peace.
