Rick Perry Hasn't Told Us Where He Stands On Much Of Anything

H/T danielvito

A C4P commenter hit the nail on the head today. I decided to post his comment here, because it's exactly how I feel.

Question to any Perry supporter!

Name one foriegn policy position, 1.9 has. For example, is he for waterboarding, does he want to stay in Iraq/Aghanistan, Does he want to stay in Libyia, what's his position on China/India/Russia, does he want to continue to fund Nato/United Nation, what's his position on Iran, if they get a nucluer bomb, Israel/Palestine problem.

Does he want to continue to import oil from abroad, does he want to continue to bail out Eurpoean banks, What will he do to Mexico vis a vie illegal imigration, what's his stance on wiretapping, drones over Pakistan, etc.

You see how little we know about this chump. Sarah has had a Facebook post over the last three years on all these subjects, further, she had a 5 point foreign policy address a few months back.

We can expect Slick Rick to steal all of Sarah's positions. If Rino Fox would only tell the truth about this empty suit!

The same could be said about Perry's domestic policy positions. What are they? Is he in favor of drilling in ANWR? What's his position on off-shore drilling? He supported TARP in 2008. What is his current position on bailouts? Where does he stand on school choice? The list of issues for which Perry's position is unknown is endless.

I checked Perry's campaign website hoping to find answers to some of these questions, but came up empty. Many of his supporters have directed people to his recent book, but he's already backing away from much of what he wrote. When will the press start demanding answers? The upcoming debates should be interesting.

You say on one of those links that Perry is ok with gay marriage. He never said that. That is a lie. He did, however, say he supports the 10th Amendment.

You say Perry supported TARP. Where in the referenced letter does he say he supports TARP?

What have I said that's false? Point it out to me. You have a very hard time answering questions.

You have indicated that marriage is defined by the Constitution. I can't really cite that b/c the moderators yanked the post b/c you were linking to a, to put it in their words, crap site.

You've stated that Perry tried to get out of a ticket. I've asked you where he tried to do that.

You can't do it. Therefore I'm immune to fact.

No way I will support a bilderburger like Perry when I can support a strong conservative like B Hussein Obama. BHO is obviously the better choice from what I’ve heard about Perry here at FR.

You’ve made references stating Perry is gay. Again, what’s your proof, besides the gay/lesbian sites you post on here?

Holy cow! Perry just entered the race.

Do you think the media is suddenly going to devote time to Perry so he can explain his positions?

Give it time!

He did make a decision and entered the race...which is more than she whose name can't be spoken except in praise

BTW, I like Sarah Palin but she isn't perfect and her supporters would turn me against her if I had had to depend on them to know her.

Perry or Mitt does not undo Obamacare or try to enforce the border.

How does that not matter?

.....and Obama is better?

Yeah, Elmer Fudd on crack would be better.

So, according to you:
1) Sarah is vengeful
2) Sarah would support someone just out of spite for the opposition candidate and not on principle

Hmmm....so, why should anyone support her for POTUS?

When will he do some interviews and share his views on those issues...AND OTHERS. How about some specifics? Where does he stand on the foreign policy issues that Mr. Devito put forth? I contend that he’s an empty suit who is being pushed upon us without a proper vetting of his record and stances on the issues. It reminds me of how we ended up with Jug Ears.

There is no comparison between a freshman Senator a few years into his term and the longest sitting governor of one of the largest states in terms of experience. The media in Texas has plenty of liberals.... to say Perry has not been vetted is silly. If there was a skeleton it’s unlikely it would have lasted this long. Lest we forget, the RINO GOP establishment supported Kay Bailey Hutchinson - not Perry - so it’s hard to call him a GOP insider is’nt it?

There are no candidates in the field that have made even half as many public decisions as Perry. His record is pretty clear and there are things that warrant fair criticism and answers but to claim there is no record to analyze is absurd.

It’s 14 months from the election and we have plenty of time to hear Perry’s foreign policy specifics if he wins the nomination. Besides, this election will focus on the economy, jobs, and size/spending of government. If we don’t fix those we won’t have to worry about foreign policy! The bar is not very high on foreign policy after the Obama Apology Tour. ]

I think Sarah would be embarrassed by some FReepers' comments supposedly in her support.

I agree, but I am concerned because I don't think that Perry has declared whether he is for a "path to citizenship" for illegals. This is a huge issue.

This is an old cartoon, so don't forget the "Pro-Communist Health Care" and "Anti-Communist Health Care" podiums:

Perry has declared whether he is for a "path to citizenship" for illegals.

He thinks those who serve in the military should be given citizenship...I think. I would have no problem with that. I'm sure there would be requirements...length of service, etc.

I have read a LOT of distortion and misinformation about Perry on FR.

I don't believe anything certain FReepers post.

Just because Perry is worlds better than Barky doesn't mean we should ignore the fact that Perry is also a two faced SOB with a history of stupid BS. Here, read this: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2769898/posts

OK, here is another question: Will Perry give work visas to all the illegals? We have painfully high unemployment.

Bugs: Eh, what’s in it for me, Doc?
Elmer: What’s in what for you?
Bugs: Eh, what’s in it for me to be “vewy, vewy quiet”?
Elmer: Well, uh, gee. I, uh, I don’t know. I, uh, I didn’t know I had to pay for quiet. Uh, how ‘bout a nickel?
Bugs: AHA! Tryin’ to bribe me, eh?’! That, sir, is contributing to the delinquency of a minor!

Bugs: [to the home audience] I wonder if some of you out there would care to contribute to the delinquency of a minor. After all, you wouldn’t want me to WOIK my way through reform school. Hey, y’got a pencil? Just send all contributions to Bugs Bunny.
Elmer: Bugs Bunny?’! Why, you’re a pesky rabbit! I’m gonna blast you good!

Elmer Fudd: [after he drops his gravity book into a canyon below] Fwankwy, ignowance is the best policy.
