I’m not a Palin supporter but I do love that woman and all she does.
Reading these cretins’ comments I’m feeling a certain ... triumphalism.

I’m no Palin zealot (we will survive if she doesn’t run) but I do so love how she tweaks the media.
She would drive that little Ho Chi Min into the dirt like a nail shot out of a cannon. I can’t wait for her to announce....she will take the country by storm.

I am a big Palin fan, but I do believe she misused the word.
I see the c4p folks continue their "Winning Friends and Influencing People" approach to the campaign.
I have an overpowering, elementary sense of superiority towards them and their delinquent tiny-minded ideology.

Let’s create our own word for them: Demb - a person who is a Democrat AND an idiot. But I repeat myself...
When they could have Googled it and found 460,000 or so entries for it, most of them before today, that’s basically begging for a “point and laugh”.
Right, the haters were wrong, I’m just not so sure she used it completely correctly. Close enough though, and the haters still have egg on their faces.

The actual line was “First, the White House needs to avoid triumphalism. Gaddafi may be gone, but the fighting may not be complete.”
The principal definition of triumphalism is “an attitude or feeling of victory or superiority”. Given the context, it looks like she used the word correctly and appropriately, i.e., “don’t get cocky and declare victory, because this likely isn’t over yet”.
