During the 2008 presidential election season, many Americans were captivated by then-candidate Barack Obamas promises of hope and change. And some would argue that much of the media were taken in by the promises too. Nearly three years into the Obama presidency, is it fair to say the media were duped? On Sundays broadcast of CNNs Reliable Sources, host Howard Kurtz asked New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman just that question. According to Friedman, the jury is still out.

How big of a piss elm club does that fool Friedman have to be hit in the head with to figure out the obvious?

Nearly three years into the Obama presidency, is it fair to say the media were duped? How can a willing - nay, eager - co-conspirator be duped?

Nothing is going to change the minds of the communists MSM. If they were reasonable they could easily see that King Obama is a communists black Muslim and wants to destroy America.
To: Nachum
The man is delusional if he thinks the jury is still out.
He can write well, but his ideas are just plain stupid and have been for a long time.

I think he needs a second term so we can have time to evaluate this more accurately.

I think if look, what have I been calling for, you know, the president to have I think there is, we just so desperately needed a grand bargain that involves restructuring of debt, raising of taxes, cutting of spending and investing in the sources of our strengths as a country from everything from infrastructure to government-funded research to education. Its so clear thats what we need. My personal frustration with Obama has been that while he certainly tried that grand bargain for a little bit, it just kind of went away. Well, it didnt on the work. He said [House Speaker John] Boehner backed out. I dont know who backed out.Well said, Thomas. Wait. . . what?

The fact that someone of Friedman's status as a "golden boy" among those who consider themselves the elite is even hinting at it means that they already know the answer. They are loath to admit they were on the koolaide truck, but they know they were

So Friedman is Baraq’s golfing partner.
Interesting......
In 2008 the top MSM investigative teams were assigned to look at Joe the plumber’s trade license, and the DNA of Palin’s Down Syndrome child. The hard hitting analysis definitely helped America make the correct choice (in Friedman’s world, anyway).
To: nascarnation
i wonder if Friedman’s golf game is better than his very bad judgment and his very unoriginal thinking.....

The title implies a narrative change, and hope.
Now somebody in the MSM is implying that perhaps Obama wasn’t eligible.
The fact that somebody in the MSM is even bringing it up as a possibility also implies that there is also a strong undercurrent of Obama’s performance.
It brings up the possibility that somebody of influence might start to check it out and somebody might be going to jail.

Actually in retrospect it’s all Bush’s fault. If Bush hadn’t been president there wouldn’t have been any need for someone like Obama for the media to worship and get elected. But then of course there was the electorate who drank that Kool-Aid.
