Organized crime cannot exist without public corruption, and there's no freakin' way the Mexican drug cartels can move $50 billion in bulk product and bundled cash each year throughout the United States without a little help from well-placed friends.
Indeed, in the last sixteen months nine South Texas lawmen have been charged with "using their badges to sneak drugs or guns through the U.S.-Mexico border region from Laredo to Brownsville" as reported by Dane Schiller for the Houston Chronicle:
Interviews and court records and testimony show the South Texas cases often involve one officer at a time pulled to the dark side by friends, family or associates offering quick cash. "If you are a local person, you are going to have friends and relatives in the community and know people on both sides of the border," said Steve McCraw, head of the Texas Department of Public Safety. "They are going to know someone, who knows someone, and take a shot."
Last March the mayor, police chief and a village trustee in Columbus, NM were charged with running guns into Mexico for the Juarez cartel's enforcement crew La Linea, and the case has raised a red flag about the extent to which the narco insurgents have corrupted U.S. cops and politicians in border communities as reported by Bob Reynolds for Al Jazeera.
Of particular concern is corruption within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection where 129 agents already have been charged in recent years and another 600 are under investigation.

This is why I always tell people that the so-called “War on Drugs” is a joke. It’s completely phony. If there were a real War on Drugs, the border between us and that misbegotten hellhole would have been locked down and sealed a long time ago.
Hopefully all three of those folks from NM will serve LONG sentences in Aroostook, County.
100% of criminals are ‘dirty’. Only a very small percentage of cops are... it’s worth remembering..
Agreed. Well said.
they suffer from the same disorder of power and corruption that they see go unpunished in our congress.
NOBODY MOVE! I have a Congressman in my pocket and Im not afraid to use it!
There is a reason law enforcement keep drugs illegal and it has nothing to do with your health, just their wealth.
Don't forget:
Dirty 0bama regime
Dirty Senators
Dirty congresspersons
FUBO GTFO !
Thanks. I suspect my comment - and yours - will stop this thread from being bumped...
“100% of criminals are dirty. Only a very small percentage of cops are... its worth remembering..”
When you consider cops that, upon observing misbehavior, even potential misbehavior, almost never turn fellow cops in (factor of social pressure, etc...) they also become “dirty”.
When you consider that reports filed in high-profile police misconduct, where video evidence is uncovered after the fact almost universally includes incorrect information on police reports (being charitable, here)
I think it’s a cultural thing within law enforcement - don’t turn in another cop, “professional courtesy” extended to misconduct (even minor offenses, like speeding) - means that nearly every cop is dirty, unfortunately.
The more cops get told they are ‘heroes’, the more militarized they become, the more special treatment extended to them, the less they consider the people they are supposed to serve as humans deserving of fair treatment.
Just my opinion....
“Only a very small percentage of cops are... its worth remembering..”
EXACTLY! The vast majority of police are people we and our children can and should look up to. Most are good and decent people, most often Veterans, were once in scouting, and they attend church regularly. And guess what party they tend to vote for?
Now if we go back to the early 20th century, and look into the police departments of large Metropolitan areas, then absolutely there was a huge problem. But those departments more closely resembled corruptible union thugs than they did peace keepers.
IF they can go to wars in other countries they CAN control the drug and illegal war here!
They don't want to. It's their BIG BUSINESS.
I warned of this happening years ago. “The American public has no idea the crime wave that is spreading nothward from Mexico”. The Mexican culture is more accepting and tolerant of widespread corruption that has been praticed for many years in their country.
Its been my experience that all the cops I have ever dealt with are pathological liars. They seem to think it is part of their job description.
Where is Mena Arkansa ?
Trained witnesses often don't agree on what they've seen - but you expect a cop in a crisis situation to be the equivalent of a DVR taping a movie? Come on.
The reason cops put video taping machines in cop cars was because the lawyers and criminals were lying in court rooms. Taping took away a lot of that.
As I said earlier, 100% of criminals are dirty - and a very small percentage of cops. I DID NOT say the 100% of cops were perfect in all their observations and habits.
Your standard for cops are too high... for citizens - too low.
That said. I would not trust ANY cop to guard my family. Mostly due to incompetence. I am fortunate enough to have built friendships with people that I trust completely and are willing to do what ever it takes to keep their charges safe and they are Special Forces committed.
