I really like what I'm HEARING from Rick Perry from his speeches and I liked his famous prayer from a few days ago. He has the appearence of what I WANT from a presidential candidate.
But I am concerned about some of the questions being raised about his record not on immigration but on ILLEGAL immigration.
I would appreciate some feedback from those who know more about his record with SOURCES to substantiate them (good or bad).
For instance, I've HEARD people say that he attended Bilderberg 2007. I'm not one who has much knowledge on "Bilderbergers", Tri-lateral Commission Illuminati and all of those topics often discussed by so-called "conspiracy theorists". But I don't dismiss them, especially in these days when yesterdays "conspiracy theory" seems to be today's reality.
More than ever I am not ready to believe anyone just because they say the right things and have a form of godliness. Cultists all do that well and are very compelling. I want to know more about his ACTIONS and history.
Thanks for your feedback in advance.
Here is what the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says:
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Instead of having the people and the State of New York have the power to decide that issue for New York, would you rather have an unconstitutional power-grab by the Federal Government so that the Federal Government can turn around and cram gay marriage down the throat of YOUR State?
Would you have Perry order the Texas National Guard to invade New York?
Perry is the Governor of Texas, not the Emperor of the United States.
Why didn’t you post the whole thing?
Well, we’re expecting a great quarter. The presidential race is heating up. We now have conservatives Bachmann and Cain officially in the race fending off RINO Romney; and Palin and Perry could possibly jump in. My hopes are with Palin, but if she decides not to run I could be happy with Bachmann or Cain. Also, if Palin does not run but Perry does, he’d probably suck all the air out of the race. Either way, Palin, Bachmann, Cain or even Perry would all be excellent alternatives to Obama the commie. Anyone but RINO Romney the big government chief architect of CommieCare!
This post of yours is one of the more obnoxious and vile I've seen on FR lately. Little girl? Muslim lover?
Disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Need to pull the anchor on anchor babies and throw them back over the border.
What about Ricardo’s affinity for Islam??
I’ve seen nothing but RINO.
Good that you are asking for insight!
I am from Texas and am a conservative, and I am a big supporter of Governor Perry for several reasons.
My biggest reasons for liking Governor Perry are:
1. He is a very strong advocate of state’s rights... He strongly believes we should keep the work of the people at the most local level. He is a stark opposite of the big government thugs we have in the White House administration right now.
2. Governor Perry has led his own state of Texas with a competitive spirit of growth, that Texas can compete for businesses, companies, and jobs by enacting fiscally conservative pro-growth practices. With such leadership, Texas (with 8% of the country’s population) has obtained 40% of all new jobs in The entire United States this past year. I don’t remember the exact number, but there was a specific business magazine that named the top ten cities in the country with new jobs, and Texas had 4 or 5 of those top ten cities. CEO Magazine has named Texas the best in the nation for attracting new businesses and companies and also growth and rebuilding of current headquarters and business facilities in the country. Governor Perry has stated he would take this same economic, pro-growth stand to the entire nation. It sounds like one of his campaign focuses will be putting Americans to work again, and that means promoting a conservative, pro-growth economic environment throughout the entire country. The thing is, he has PROVEN he can do that same thing in Texas. To take a conservative pro-growth environment to the rest of the country seems like an easier step for him than for MANY others in leadership right now throughout our country.
3. While this may seem like a much smaller point, I believe it is important. Governor Perry is experienced enough to understand all the different components of our country’s top executive position (he will be a stark contrast against Barack Obama who still doesn’t get what leading a Congress and a nation is) YET Governor Perry has an amazing way of exhibiting empathy and understanding to a vast diversity of people. Some may second guess his actions, but he does come off as very consoling when needed and sincere all the time. Overall, this experience AND personality give him a presidential quality that is a refreshing step from Obamaism. His humble beginnings give him believability. His credentials give him command of just about any situation he’ll have thrown his way. His folksy personality makes him likeable. Put all those things together from this item #3, and I believe you’ll see a person who is more presidential than most of the other candidates and more electable than Barack Obama.
He has shortcomings.
1. He believed Guardasil should be included in the previously listed vaccines that were required of children. Like MMR and such that have been required, Governor Perry took on his own legislative body in Texas and almost signed an executive order for Guardasil to be included in required vaccines, the Guardasil to be scheduled for girls at 12 years of age. While Guardasil has some use for guarding against cervical (I believe that kind) cancer, especially taking into account oral sex is rising in our teen population and the Guardasil supposedly provided a protection from that specific result of that specific act, many believed that 1.) either Governor Perry was overstepping the rights of parents by adding this vaccine, or 2.) Governor Perry must be in the pockets of some pharmaceutical company to have wanted this. This may be something you want to check out more to see if it bothers you personally.
2. Another problem Governor Perry has is that he proposed that Texas should be building a super highway all the way up through Texas. Some liked the idea believing Texas needed this additional infrastructure. Others felt Governor Perry was proposing something that would take up too much land from eminent domain to get this done. Others feared Governor Perry wanted this large north to south (or south to north), from the Texas border near Mexico to a northern state above Texas would decrease the safety of Texas and be used for illegal immigration activities. Others felt Governor Perry had overstepped his free trade / free market rights... that Texas should not be so involved in allowing goods to be moved from The US to Mexico or Canada or visa versa. To be better educated about this, you may want to check out any info you can find on the Texas I-35 corridor.
3. Many do not like what Governor Perry has done with allowing children who have grown up in Texas but with illegal parents to go to college in Texas at the in-state tuition level. It is not like illegal aliens or their children can just expect instate tuition, but it does involve a difficult group of people to label. There are children in Texas that are naturally born in Texas or have lived in Texas for years with parents who have settled into society there but have not done what they should for citizenship. The parents have not become official citizens, yet they have worked and provided for their families here and their children have grown up America and have successfully completed American schools. With the CHILDREN, not the parents but the CHILDREN, if other criteria is satisfied such as they have attended a Texas school for a number of years (I can’t remember how many but I believe it’s a good amount), and if the parents have earned a living in Texas and paid taxes (for some amount of time which I am thinking was 2 or 3 years prior), etc., then those specific children qualify for in-state tuition. I believe some do not understand there is a lot of other criteria these students need to meet before they can qualify for the cheaper Texas tuition, others may understand but don’t like it because the parents have not obtained their American citizenship. Regardless of which side you may stand on, do understand that this is at least a Texas system of qualification for Texas colleges and universities. It does not affect what other states do with their own state’s colleges and universities.
I hope those specific things help you to understand a little more about Rick Perry. I believe these may also be many of the same things, good and bad, which you’ll see come up during his vetting and campaign.
everybody with Perry’s stature is going have
some negative baggage.
as others have written,
Perry has some crossover appeal.

Let me just say as a Texan, a 10-year USMC vet, and as someone who works as a trainer for combat personnel, Perry is not my #1 choice. However, he does possess some strengths (by default) that match up well against the Communist-in-chief. Fact is that none of the candidates are perfect. I only know of one perfect person who has set foot on this big round thing we call Earth and that’s Jesus Christ. Sure, a lot of people on here will not be happy unless Palin or Bachmann are the nominee. A lot of that has to do with the fact that they are hot and a lot of guys out there have secret fantasies about being governed by them. I’m going to get blasted by them about 2 minutes and 7 seconds after I post this because there are a lot of insecure people out there. Are there some questions Perry needs to answer? Sure there are. I’m not going to blast him for mistakes he has made in the past. Double R was not always the man we remember him as but he was never an apologist socialist American hater and neither are any of the candidates I have seen so far on the republican side. I’d take any combination of them against what we presently have. Personally, I’d like to see a Palin/Perry, Perry/Palin, Perry/Bachmann, or Bachmann/Perry ticket. Doesn’t really matter how it all works itself out to me. I know that the Tea Party can influence them should they start to stray. That’s all I have to say for now. Gonna enjoy this beer now and have funny thoughts of Ron Paul in his tin-foil hat chasing aliens around Area 51. Peace
Oh, and I forgot this in the post I just sent your way, so I’ll just write a second one. This one won’t be so long, thankfully! LOL
Governor Perry attended an annual Bilderberg conference a few years back. He was asked by the organization, as a governor to one of the biggest energy producing states in The U.S.(Texas), to be a keynote speaker on his view of the importance and ability of American energy production. He took that as an invitation to deliver a conservative representation of America’s ability to be energy independent and did provide that keynote speech at that conference. He has stated he listened to the other speakers at that conference that year and that he spoke with the conference attendees after his speech. In fact, he joked that he got into an argument with some old lady there, perhaps an Al Gore follower, that insisted our world was burning up.
I have never heard of Governor Perry going to any other events other than the time he accepted the request to speak at their conference on his believe in America’s energy independence.
Perry supported Giuliani for President.
Giuliani is pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-amnesty, anti-Bill of Rights, and he is corrupt. In fact he would be in jail except his crimes were uncovered after the statutes of limitations had run out.
On top of all of that, Giulianis wife had to get a court order to keep him from bringing his strumpet into the family home. His wife and kids first found out he was filing for a divorce when he announced it in a press conference.
ANYONE who would support someone like Giuliani for any elected office does not have the judgement needed to be president.
Look... Nobody is saying Rick Perry can’t be a good candidate that can beat Zero. Obviously he can be a GREAT candidate.
But it’s also OBVIOUS that his ACTIONS on immigration issues in Texas are a little dog and pony show. Sending a few hundred National Guardsmen to the Mexican border is like pi$$ing on a raging forest fire.
He could have have muscled the “sanctuary city” bill through the legislative special session, but he just let it die!! He had the clout to make it happen and he just gave up. He let special interest, big business donors, that LOVE cheap illegal labor have their way.
It’s VERY well known in Texas that big Texas GOP donors, like Charles Butts of HEB food stores and Bob Perry the billionaire Houston home builder, made eleventh hour calls to get the sanctuary city bill killed.
He COULD have backed Jan Brewer UNEQUIVOCALLY on the SB 1070 bill in Arizona. But what did he say????? He said
some mealy mouthed bull sh!t about the law “not being right for Texas”.... Jan brewer is carrying Rick Perry’s nuts in her purse!! The Governor of Alabama has a better record for border security than Rick Perry and Alabama isn’t even
a border state!!!
Before you criticize Texans who have LEGITIMATE concerns about Rick Perry’s intentions on immigration issues, you need to come here and see our hospital emergency rooms that are SWAMPED with Mexican illegals. You need to see our schools that are polluted with the spawn of 1.5 MILLION!! Mexican illegals. It’s a TOTAL waste to even TRY to educate them. 50% drop out before they even graduate high school!
And the taxpayers of Texas HAVE to pay for all this BS. We wouldn’t have so much trouble with school funding if we weren’t having to pay to educate half of frigging Mexico.
And Polybius... fences can be made to be effective... The East Germans did it and we can too. As a matter of fact, there’s prolly some old retired East German border guards that wouldn’t mind making some extra dough showing us how.
I don’t give a DEAD RAT’S A$$ if Rick Perry can beat every Democrat they put up... As a Texan who has to risk my life, on the freeway every day, with illegals who REFUSE to buy
liability insurance.. I HAVE AN ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO QUESTION RICK PERRY’S SERIOUSNESS ABOUT BORDER SECURITY!!!
SO IF YOU DON’T LIVE IN TEXAS.. JUST BACK OFF!!!
WAAAAAY OFF!!

Great stuff! Thanks for posting it.
I am a Rick Perry supporter. Here’s why:
1. Texas A&M grad and leader in the Corps of Cadets. He was a Yell Leader, a position that has a ton of stature in Aggieland. And from watching his mannerisms during speeches, I can say I know where a lot of them come from.
2. He is a graduate of Undergraduate Pilot Training and has operation experience in the active duty military as a C-130 pilot. UPT is a tough program.
3. Met Perry in person in 2001, on the border in Del Rio. Perry has been pragmatic on border issues and understands the culture of the border. At that time, illegal immigration “amnesty” plan had not yet been defeated in the US Congress, and Texas was trying to accommodate the Mexican diplomacy issues, while at the same time eying the illegal problem. On the border, there is (was) a ton of cross-border cultural, familial, and business mobility. Post 9/11, the border has become less friendly, as Homeland Security measures have gone into effect. When reading Perry’s stands on immigration in 2001 vs 2011, you have to take into account that things have gotten much worse on the Texas-Mexico border, and Perry has been out in front sounding the alarms and taking action to counteract problems. To boot, no candidate for president understands the border security and immigration issue better than Perry. He’s been dealing with it longer, and at more in depth levels than any of the other candidates, including Obama.
4.Saw Perry at Sean Hannity’s Freedom Tour in Houston 2009. He spoke, in addition to Kay Bailey Hutchison. I like both of them. But let me tell you: Perry’s presentation was excellent, engaging, and he had the crowd roaring. Kay Bailey Hutchison didn’t stand a chance of besting him. Hell, Sean Hannity couldn’t either, and Hannity was the star of the show. Rick Perry is excellent on the stump.
5. I had a request into Perry’s governor’s office to tentatively schedule Perry to appear at a music festival earlier this year. I had forgotten that I had made the request. Several months before the festival, Perry’s office called me personally to apologize for his not being able to make it. To me, it told me that he had things at the state house “wired.” I mean, not being Michael Williams I was very inconsequential, yet someone on his staff took the time to call me personally. I was impressed.
6. Perry has been a consistent chief executive of the state. He’s been pragmatic and dared to try controversial things to solve problems. Such as, I-35 is a clogged artery through the center of the state. It can be 1 a.m. in the morning and you are standing still in traffic somewhere on that interstate. Toll roads have been adequate, cost-effective solutions for fixing traffic problems in Houston and Dallas. Perry advocated the trans-Texas corridor and met opposition from land owners. So he dropped the idea. Big deal. How would Obama handle opposition from land owners? (answer: dispatch Holder to sue the land owners and take their land).
7. Perry held the line on the budget this year. The conventional wisdom to dip into the “rainy day fund” was intense. The budget was balanced, and a lot of special interest programs were gutted in the process, without (at least overtly) dipping into the “rainy day fund.” He did excellent!
Rick Perry is sincere that he had no immediate ambition to run for president this year. I believe him. I sincerely think he headed a call that his country needs him.
Rick Perry will be an outstanding candidate, and should he be elected, I think he will provide competent leadership. No big promises. I just know he’s a solid guy, and will be good for the country.
You got the wrong song. Perry’s theme song should be this:
Ray Wylie Hubbard, “Screw You, We’re from Texas!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-cFtSPIF4Q
“When reading Perrys stands on immigration in 2001 vs 2011, you have to take into account that things have gotten much worse on the Texas-Mexico border, and Perry has been out in front sounding the alarms and taking action to counteract problems. To boot, no candidate for president understands the border security and immigration issue better than Perry. Hes been dealing with it longer, and at more in depth levels than any of the other candidates, including Obama”

If so, then why didn’t he get the “sanctuary city” bill passed in the legislative special session???
He had the clout. He had the muscle. For Christ sake, he has a GOP super-majority in the Texas State House.
So what happened??
The Cheap labor loving, big business special interest is what happened.
And Ol Rick, prolly went to have some beers with em the next day.
If you really want some input as a Texan about the issues that the meny are putting up here. Most of it is a pure bucket of democrapic krap propaganda. I know my governor well and the whats and whys of the issues they are trying to use.
