There are very few things the left is really good at, but one of them is propaganda, its bread and butter, the biggest arrow in its quiver. While extolling "the working class", the socialist movement has always been an almost exclusive preserve of radical intellectuals. These people, whose primary habitat is the ivory towers of academia, are far removed from reality. They spend their lives talking non-stop, engaging in verbal games and coming up with slogans and catch-words and phrases, sometimes quite ingenious. You have to admit that the NYT's headline "General Betray Us" mocking Gen. Petraeus, while sickeningly impudent, was very good as a cute piece of propaganda.

“Ask the liberal spouting any of the above for proof that, say, Sarah Palin is an idiot or Barack Obama an intellectual giant, and the answer would be a puzzled stare —”
I get more lies.
So, being that I suffer fools far less gladly than in my youth, I use some oft-repeated phrase to extricate myself from the toxic stupor that is the liberal ‘brain’...
- “I’m sorry you feel that way.”
- “I know what you mean, I USED TO think that way myself.”
and if others are listening...
- “If I agreed with you, we’d BOTH be wrong.”
You can’t reason with crazy.
It wasn't a NYT headline. It was a moveon.org ad, if I remember correctly. Nothing like blowing your credibility right out of the gate.
The Democrats’ big lie is that they’re Democrats. They’re Socialists who have overtaken the DNC.
The GOOD NEWS here, and it is under-reported in the lapdog media, is that even with $30M in campaign money going into the recall in Wisconsin, the well-funded unions LOST and LOST BIG. Maybe the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party - and the baseline theme of smaller government, lower taxes, and return to founding principles - will carry the day against world-class propagandists like Axelrod and ridiculously ginormous campaign coffers, coupled to a weak-as-a-kitten and ineffective leader like Barry.
DA and BO may have to spend 10 to 1 to get the same impact as Pubbie ads next November. Their cred is so dilluted, poisoned, and spoiled.
We always need to remember .. although the left is always touting saving the middle class, what it really wants to do is DESTROY the middle class.
BECAUSE YOU CANNOT HAVE TYRANNY UNTIL YOU DESTROY THE MIDDLE CLASS.
Check any socialist or 3rd world country - 2 classes of people - those who rule - those who are slaves to the rulers.
This is the main reason why the left hates the Tea Party.
They very often don’t know they’re lying. Conservatives tend to assume that because we can see the big picture and use critical thinking to understand it, liberals/Dems can too. That is a mistake. An awful lot of Dems can’t reason their way out of a brown paper bag. They’ve self-lobotomized their critical/rational thinking capabilities. Yes, in times past, such as Nazi Germany, propagandists were well aware of what they were doing. Modern Dems are far less so. A lot of what they say they actually believe. Cognitive Dissonance is a way of life for them.
Honestly, I know what I’m talking from personal interaction. The level of raw, rank, stupifying ignorance in modern-day liberalism is just mind boggling. They look at facts and simply cannot process them if they disturb in any way the assumptions/memes upon which modern liberalism rests. It’s scary but true. Even ‘smart’ liberals come across as moronically stupid if you actually try to reason with them—and again, I know what I’m talking about.
To give just one example. I engaged in a months-long exchange with a brilliant [on a purely IQ basis, nothing more] feminist liberal far-leftist based in Seattle. She thought she was being so uber-smart when she explained that ‘evil’ doesn’t really exist. I eviscerated that one with one hair-raising example, yet the only effect was for her to ignore that discussion and try to take the conversation elsewhere. If there’s a bright spot, at least she wasn’t an Obamaphile. She backed Hillary.
When writing a piece commenting on the lies of others, getting your simple facts strait is a real good idea. No?
“Cognitive Dissonance is a way of life for them.”
No truer words were ever written. “Believing your own bullsh!!t” is a cruder version.
Just a little tweak to this assertion - since the 'liberal mind' is, by definition, faulty - they don't have or need proof for their dogma - they also don't need proof for these slogans. The conservative mind is a little more discerning.
You have a way with words! And yes, you said it well.
Propaganda has been with us since before the fall:
And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. Darby Bible Translation And the serpent said to the woman,
We need to create REAL grassroots opposition, knowing full well that DA will stomp it down with lawsuits, counter-ads, and AstroTurf.
Six of one, half dozen of the other.
MoveOn.org, NYT little difference.
Yes, it is the one new thing about their tyranny -— the ability to lie, the cleverness of their lying. They say one thing and do they opposite.
they do something terrible and then accuse their enemies of having done that very thing.
this is new and different; the Nazi’s just went roaring around with “We’re big and tough and we’re going to kill you if you don’t submit and we’re going to kill all the Jews!! We’re hero-warriors and we’re going to bash you to bits if you don’t do what we say! We’re going to conquer the world!!”
Communists would murder millions and their propaganda would cry out that Capitalism was murdering millions. They destroyed russian agriculture and sent out films of happy communal farm girls dancing with tractors. They rationed food and claimed that workers in capitalist countries were starving. And on and on.
You said to liberals (”you cant reason with crazy”):
Im sorry you feel that way.
- I know what you mean, I USED TO think that way myself.
and if others are listening...
- If I agreed with you, wed BOTH be wrong.
