I know Edwards AFB was half mast the day it happened.

I doubt he had time. Remember in between campaign and fund raising events, he had to go to Dover AFB for the photo opp.
By the way, am I the only one offended when the President (of any strip) gives a hand salute wearing civilian clothes?
I know they all do it, but it bothers the hell out of me. what is wrong with just placing their hand over their heart?

Wait, I think I have it figured out. No heart.

I served under both Carter AND Clinton - and I barely escaped with my life! (The Reagan Years made life worth living again...)

I pity anyone serving in the military these days. Oh, they’re wo/man enough to see it through - but it must be incredibly demoralizing.

I believe that the last time the White House flag was ordered lowered to half staff was when Obama pulled a double bogey on the seventeenth hole of the links at Martha’s Vineyard - but that was about a year ago.

All I heard was that Obama stopped at the casket of each one and said a prayer. It made me so ill I couldn’t think for a minute or so. This man is disgusting.

God bless these brave men. RIP Heroes in the knowledge that God loves you.

Hey, he’s too busy celebrating Ramadan to care about the worst loss of servicemen since the Afghan war began.

NO SARCASM INTENDED.

It’s confirmed, the flag at the White House is at half-staff.

Oslama ordered it in honor of the Taliban insurgents responsible for the downing of the Chinook helicopter who were killed today by an F-16 airstrike.

What would cause Obama to think of the American Flag?
He already mentioned the troops in a speech, which is likely more than he was personally inclined.

Did anyone here live through WWII on the home front? If it were required to half-mast Old Glory every time we experienced some battlefield KIA she would have been half-masted continually for about four and a half years. Of course, we did not get nearly real time reports of battlefield casualties. The 2,000 or so that died in a single training exercise accident in preparation for the Normandy landings, and other events of like lethal dimensions were not made public until long after their occurrence; something about not telling our enemies things they should not be told.

Don’t be silly. The military doesn’t have time right now to deal with mino stuff like this. Right now their top priority is forcing all military personnel to attend gay brainwashing diversity classes. All “military” stuff, you know, like fighting wars and protecting the troops is on the back burner right now.

My flag is at half mast when I think it is appropriate ... I'm not going to wait on a President like the one we have now to make that decision for me. It is MY country, I'll celebrate or mourn with it in my own way. (And it is at half mast now with a black ribbon for the Seals).

...and that's MY bumper sticker I "wear" on my Jeep with pride. I made it myself (no commercial effort, Elements 9 and sticky backed paper) ... and yes, I use the word "stood" when I recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

I'm 70 years old .. I know well what the flag STOOD for and I do not acknowledge what it is purported to "stand" for today!
