Coming to America soon....wait already happening here with all the flash mobs and especially after the Wisconsin state fair incident...
Society breaking down fast....
Let us know when the rioters move to city that allows concealed carry.
Somehow I doubt we will see pictures of victims being forced to strip naked while other watch on.
I experienced the 2001 Cincinnati riots. The cause was the same, police shooting of a minority, and the opportunists were out in full force.

I’m actually surprised we haven’t witnessed more riots in America however I don’t believe we are far off. They’ll swiftly come if Obama is defeated and heavy cuts are made to entitlement programs. Perhaps it’s all the free government cell phones that are keeping the peace?
It’s hard to believe that the rioting was ever about the shooting. Maybe the shooting was an excuse in the demented minds of these youth gangs.
I truly think that is exactly it.
The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our time.
Edward Grey, 1st Viscount Grey of Fallodon (1914)
Beacons of warning are being lit all over Europe. We shall not see them extinguished except by rivers of blood.

The military can’t intervene because that makes citizens the enemy. (Not debating it here: you just don’t go there if you want the nation to stay intact.)
The police can’t intervene because there’re outnumbered and the spark for the event (at least in London). They can’t induce enough casualties to stop it without crossing the line and becoming criminals themselves.
Hence a value of the 2nd Amendment: it’s the locals drawing the line. Stuff stops right quick when neighbors say “no” in unison and stand the line.
Paint your side and upper door posts with looter’s blood, as a sign for the plague to pass you by.
Don’t go around tonight,
Well, it’s bound to take your life,
There’s a bad moon on the rise.
Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we’re in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.
These riots just don’t make sense to me.
Okay, we’re saying that the minority community is angry, feels racism and all that. Okay, can someone explain how looting a store is what you should do because of this perceived racism? How does this help your cause? Did the store owner of the store you burned down have anything to do with the police action in the first place? Is he/she racist at all? Yet he/she has their lives ruined because of this action.
Most of the news stories haven’t mentioned the racial or ethnic background of the rioters, or how this all started.
Consider the rioting in so many cities after Martin Luther King was killed. How does that violence somehow honor a man who was committed to non-violence? And how does stealing and burning down buildings somehow get even for the perceived discrimination???
It sure seems that rioting sets back race relations, and, sets back redevelopment and urban renewal in our cities. Some sections of Washington, DC, still looked bombed out years after the riots of ‘68. A few days of rage can set things back decades. I’ve heard that some parts of Detroit never recovered after the riots of ‘67 there.
The NG was called out in Detroit in '67.
Spot-on!
“The way we police in Britain is not through use of water cannon,” Home Secretary Theresa May told Sky News. “The way we police in Britain is through consent of communities.”

Um, might want to reconsider the water cannons...
My absolute favorite quote from "The Guns of August". Sadly, I agree that is what we are witnessing.
In 67 in Detroit we had something similar. National Guard called in, they ran over a few cars with tanks, shot a few people and it was over.
Detroit was already in decline in the ‘60’s.
Britain will not even use water cannons. They are just lost.
Funny how soundbites are expected to address all historical nuances.
Yeah, there might be a few cases where it turned out OK. General rules akin to “don’t go there - you might not come back” are not proven wrong when one comes back.
Although I’m not in agreement with your first two points, I agree with your conclusion completely.
2nd Amendment rights — together with a well-armed citizenry — is far better than any other alternative way of handling this situation.
“Stop! or I’ll say ‘Stop!’ again!”
