>>> Maybe Palin needs to be reminded that Texas is a US Border state and is saddled with the expenses of illegals. “ <<<

Palin catches on to what Palin wants to catch on to. No one has a prayer against Perry on jobs, so she sprinkles dust on the subject of ordinary debt for troubled times in his state. The load of burden on Texas with debt, in these times, is commisurate with any other state, but we’ve got jobs.

She needs to get in if she wants to rumble. The sniper shots from the dinner table where she sits, over there by the window, keep Romney free from the Perry hassle and solidifies his front runner position.

Perry isn’t a frugal man with the people’s money either.......

During the fiscal years for which Rick Perry exercised budgetary authority as Governor of Texas (FY02 through FY10)

• Debt outstanding increased 184.2%, or 20.5% per year

• Per capita debt outstanding increased 140.4%, or 15.6% per year

• Total liabilities increased 60.6%, or 6.7% per year

• Total liabilities per capita increased 35.8%, or 4.0% per year

Odd Statement? Is Perry in yet, or is he just sniping from the same table?

Rita, maybe you can provide some insight on this quote excerpted from one of Perry's speeches, linked on another thread:

“Legislation authored by border legislators Pat Haggerty and Eddie Lucio establishes an important study that will look at the feasibility of bi-national health insurance. This study recognizes that the Mexican and U.S. sides of the border compose one region, and we must address health care problems throughout that region. That’s why I am also excited that Texas Secretary of State Henry Cuellar is working on an initiative that could extend the benefits of telemedicine to individuals living on the Mexican side of the border.”

You know more about Perry than I do, by a long shot. It sounds like he not only supports the idea of the government getting involved in health insurance ("bi-national health insurance") for American citizens, but for Mexican citizens, too. Now, maybe in the context, he was referring to relaxing regulations (like ones that make it difficult for insurers to compete state to state in the U.S.) so that American (or Texas) health insurance companies could operate in Mexico, and Mexican health insurance companies could operate in the U.S. (or Texas). Then again, maybe he meant government-umbrellaed health insurance along the lines of Romneycare.

Can you enlighten me as to what Perry was getting at? I know, I'm being lazy not to go do it myself, but I know you're an admirer of Perry, so I figured you'd know the context.

Hardly Ace. Few have done the outstanding job of electing pubbies that Sarah Palin has done. Have you seen mitt or perry out there getting other Republicans elected in the way Palin has? No way!

Some of us have been trying to make up our minds about Perry if Palin does not run. She just made mine up with her re-tweet. As already mentioned on this thread Perry had a choice, build a fence or welcome illegals. He made his choice. Now I have made mine.

Actually Palin has a better record than Perry on jobs too. I’m on my Blackberry but when I’m back to a computer I can provide a pretty telling link on that.too—if no one else has in the meantime.

No.

All Americans whether they are "in" running or not, are free to "rumble", and join the political discussion.

I would suggest that you worry about your own candidate, who hasn't entered the race yet.
