Youll have to watch this to believe it.
In a harsh criticism of House Republicans and think tanks critical of Rep. John Boehners plan to raise the debt limit, the 2008 Republican Presidential nominee, who chose Tea Party darling Sarah Palin for VP, said about this about a faction of his own party:
Granted, Sen. McCain was quoting a Wall Street Journal opinion piece this morning when he recited this passage:
The Republican House that failed to raise the debt ceiling would somehow escape all blame. Then Democrats would have no choice but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the tea-party Hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor.
This is the kind of crack political thinking that turned Sharron Angle and Christine ODonnell into GOP Senate nominees.
McCains eruption was the product of his frustration with fellow conservatives who are still holding out for a balanced budget amendment as part of any compromise on the debt ceiling. McCain accused those pushing for the amendment as deceiving America into believing such a thing can pass the Senate:
Is this McCains strategy to build a coalition with those in his own party to get a plan actually done? Is this how he thinks he can sway support for Boehners plan?

I’m going to find me a Hobbit mask or shirt somewhere.....
McCain, the great Goblin: “’Smash them! Beat them! Bite them! Gnash them! Take them away to the dark holes full of snakes and never let them see the light again!’”
Then I'll be Legolas.
No problem. But, I’m Beorne. Got it?
Bravo! I love this! Wormtongue McCain will rue the day he insulted us Hobbitses!
OK, we can bang chests for a while, then be pals ;)
Fits you to a tee. Now searching for Gandalf and Bilbo.
Hey who is the traitor Sauramon?
Who is your choice?
“Hey who is the traitor Sauramon?”
I’m voting for McCain.
Fits you to a tee. Now searching for Gandalf and Bilbo.
Should I be offended?
Someone said Ronald Reagan should be our Gandalf. I'm not sure who fits the bill as Bilbo.
Is McLame screaming for a new party? We've got a huge vacuum for conservatives. What's the logical consequence?
Lindsey Graham?
Started out okay but has been corrupted by the power of Mordor on the Potomac.
Others say McLame is “Wormtongue.”
I thought we already decided that McCain was wormtongue?
Who has betrayed us the most? That person should be Sauromon, cause Gandalf was counting on him to have a solution...
“Lindsey Graham?
Started out okay but has been corrupted by the power of Mordor on the Potomac”
Maybe, but somehow Sauramon was a little more menacing. I think I’m going to have to sleep on it. My eyelids won’t stay open long enough to type this answer. Ya’ll have fun. I’ll check back tomorrow.
I would love to see Tea Party Embrace this...Yeah, we are just like Hobbits protecting the Shire from Sauron—I used to have a background screen with the “Obama O” on the Eye of Sauron image! Anyone have that available to post?
Brave, undaunted, we persevere!
Hobbit and Proud of it!!
Screw the Hobbits.
If we’re gonna role play, I’m Bannor of the Bloodguard from Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever.
They just don’t get it. We the people are the Tea Party.
A Hobbitt from the great state of NY.
Sorry.
Reply to wrong poster...LOL
