Washington (CNSNews.com) Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley (D) said that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and the dinosaur wing of the Republican Party are actively trying to ruin the economy by undermining debt-ceiling negotiations.
Speaking to reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference Thursday, OMalley said certain elements of the GOP are trying to undermine the economy to harm President Obama politically. OMalley claimed that these Republicans are trying to either push the country into default or hurt the economy by cutting government jobs.
I believe that there are some members some members of the Republican Party who, in order to defeat President Obama in the next election, would like to kill the jobs recovery now, either by default or by massive sudden cuts to public sector jobs, OMalley said.

Ah yes, more anti-GOP headlines. Got to give it to the Dems, they’re relentless. How about just one Repulican getting up and telling us that Obama is risking a default because he insists on raising our taxes during the worst recession in memory?
He’s off message. Democrats are supposed to call us a fringe cult today.
Hey Jackass...it’s your party that has broken the law by not passing a budget for the last 2 years.
You people are pathetic!
And how many people who make up a significant portion of your tax base have moved out of Maryland in the last couple of years there, Governor?
The sad O’Santuary DREAM Act “Don’t go to PG County” O’Malley, a Libtard with a mouth...go F yourself, Commie.
Yeah.....O’Malley ought to talk. As a former MD resident, I’m not sure what he f***ed more: The MD economy or the female reporting staff at WBAL TV.
I guess he is trying to say, “never let a good crisis go to waste.”
This ain’t rocket science. Cut the damned spending already!!
You can’t kill what’s already dead.
lol...did I miss something... there is an economic recovery going on?
How the hell did it get baked into the yearly budget expenditures?
Time to cut 1 Trillion from the budget immediately.
We did fine on 1 Trillion less only four years ago!
Let the chips fall.
It’s more like the ‘ Masada Wing ‘ ... but we get yur point, Gub. Idiot.
Liberals, including O’Malley, cannot comprehend that their spending deters investment because it crowds out capital formation in the private sector.
They don’t get it, because they are Keynesian economic illiterates.
Yo, O’Malley. There IS NO economic recovery. We’ve given the socialists their run. It’s time to do a 180-degree turn and go back to the tried-and-true of growth policies.
We in Virginia enjoy having a hearty laugh at Maryland. We took a rightward turn in ‘09 and it’s paying off. Whatever you’re doing up in your over-regulated little hellhole must be working too, because voters keep electing and re-electing people like Sens. Cardin and Mikulski, Rep. Hoyer and.. you.
What is killing the Economy?
1) Government Spending
2) Government printing money to cover spending
3) Government regulations
The ‘debt’ is simply the fed printing up money.
The debt limit could easily be circumvented, simply transfer
the fed’s t-bill collection into some other account that doesn’t count towards the debt. SS Trust Fund, Freddie or Fannie. This is where 0 is showing his lack of creativity.
The press is playing along, after all a contrived crisis stills sells papers and ad time.
The bottom line is that the spending and resultant fed QE is causing inflation, the over regulation is causing uncertainty. Jobs will not return until the spending is cut and the government regulation is stabilized.
...which convinces me that Democrats are all out of their minds!
I heard that too....
“Dinosaur Wing of the GOP”
That is a direct line from DAILY KOS, from last weekend.
Funny how KOS-Created memes find their way directly in to Mainstream Media stories, isn’t it!
That’s right. Thursday’s are Fringe Cult days. Fridays are Dinosaur days. Mondays are Troglodytes, Tuesdays are Neanderthals, and Wednesdays are Rampaging Huns.
