Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) said that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and the “dinosaur wing of the Republican Party” are actively trying to ruin the economy by undermining debt-ceiling negotiations.
Speaking to reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference Thursday, O’Malley said certain elements of the GOP are trying to undermine the economy to harm President Obama politically. O’Malley claimed that these Republicans are trying to either push the country into default or hurt the economy by cutting government jobs.
“I believe that there are some members – some members – of the Republican Party who, in order to defeat President Obama in the next election, would like to kill the jobs recovery now, either by default or by massive sudden cuts to public sector jobs,” O’Malley said.
When asked by CNSNews.com after the press conference which Republicans he was talking about, Gov. O’Malley fingered the House Majority Leader and a “dinosaur wing” of the GOP.
“I’m talking about Eric Cantor and the dinosaur wing of the Republican Party,” O’Malley said.
Asked whether other conservative Republicans – such as Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) – might be part of his “dinosaur wing,” O’Malley refused to answer, saying only that he hoped the “Republican Party of Lincoln” would prevail.
“I won’t go further than that because I want to allow space for the goodness of the Republican Party of Lincoln to re-emerge,” he said.

The Democrats are doing everything that they can to hold back, control, hamper, regulate and steal from businesses and those who start, own and run them. Ergo they are doing everything they cab to destroy the economy.

The only difference in the economy firing public sector jobs will cause is a savings as we go from paying them their Government salaries to paying them a less exhorbitant Welfare check.
The money will still come from Government sources and the economy will still stay the same. Government jobs do nothing for the economy except make it worse.
Yes they are working, but they do not contribute it’s more stimulus money.
100% of Public Sector jobs comes from Government funds and they pay back 25% in taxes. Private sector jobs get the same 25% but Government pays out nothing. How hard is that to understand?
