Sarah Palin: Sen. McConnell Plan ‘Makes No Sense,’ Hands Obama Budget With ‘White Flag’
Mediaite ^ | July 13, 2011 | Frances Martel

As the budget talks heat up and the time to reach any deal necessitates compromise, many on the right are becoming disillusioned with the evolution of the new budget. Among these is Sarah Palin, who told Sean Hannity tonight that she thought Sen. Mitch McConnell’s plan “makes no sense” and that now, more than evern, “we have to reload. We will not capitulate.”

Palin argued that much of the debt problem was due to the direction that President Obama had taken the country, away from “a strong foundation of reward for work ethic and development of natural resources.” Now that the mess had been made, however, Palin argued that compromising too much on conservative principles would be dangerous. “We cannot default, but we cannot afford to retreat– we have to reload,” she told Hannity, then going after the McConnell plan. “That plan of McConnell’s makes no sense because it cedes power to Obama,” she argued. To Palin, giving President Obama more power is particularly dangerous because “we cannot trust him to further manipulate our economy.”

Instead, Palin proposed that Congress allow “President Obama to understand some free market, time-tested principles that worked,” rather that “just hand him with white flags” the tools necessary to put the budget together. “We can’t just wave a white flag and surrender,” she concluded, because “our President has failed in this arena.”

She’s definitely right about that!

If she doesn’t end up running for Pres, can we get her to move to KY and run against McConnell the next time he’s up for reelection?

Indeed. Who thinks we can fix the debt by giving a psychopathic fascist president a personal credit line of 2.5 trillion dollars and expect him to handle it for the common good. I guess McConnell does. I don't, and I don't think the GOP is smart enough to make Obama pay for abuse. He has the media who will simply silence any news of economy-shattering abuses.

McConnell said there isn’t a single vote for the debt ceiling in either house of congress from the GOP.

What was Palin talking about? Is this taken out of context? It certainly isn’t presidential at all, the way this thread reports it.

Yes, and if the best we men can do for a leader is McConnell, well I guess there just must have been something in the water for that generation of men born in the 1940s. Nuclear testing maybe?

Great interview by Sarah. Two points:

1. She is the ONLY one around who is not afraid to call out Obama and even members of the GOP and point out exactly the mistakes they are making and exactly how the situation can be remedied.

2. She is not bashful talking about her solutions, the direction she'd take the country, and her qualifications should she run for president.

Someone here said that Obama SR wrote in a thesis that the government has the right to take all the money everyone earns as long as the government provides for the people in return.

Obama Jr - despite not knowing his father - does seem to want to bring those dreams to fruition.

The man is out of control NUTS!

I agree with Sarah - Obama is trying to change us from a work for your own reward society to one where you can live off another person’s work - courtesy of the politicians. What about the failure of communism does zero not get???

You obviously haven’t been paying any attention to McConnell actual proposal. He came out with it yesterday. Google it.

I did pay attention to it. Politically, if he changes the House to a 50% majority vote, it makes perfect sense. Carney already shot it down today, anyhow, saying the President doesn't need to give specific cuts.

Palin is just sitting on the sidelines throwing bombs at her own party. It's ridiculous. Either announce you're running, Sarah, or stop sabotaging your own party.

I don’t hav PDS. I think she’s a smart and capable woman, and certainly better than Obumbles.

That said, she isn’t helping things right now, IMO, by being a mere pundit. If she is going to announce, now is the time.

“You obviously haven’t been paying any attention to McConnell actual proposal. He came out with it yesterday. Google it.”

ngat is right. Look it up. You don’t know what you’re talking about. McConnell proposed a plan essentially giving Obama executive power to raise the debt ceiling. The idiot’s plan is unconstitutional. It tells me that these RINOs are in with Obama and work for the same corrupt interest as the Democrats. They really do want to raise the debt ceiling but don’t want the backlash from the U.S. voters. I’m sick and tired of the whole bunch. We need people like Gov. Palin in office. Run Sarah Run!!!
