This morning, I was clicking around on this site to see if I could find anything to help a poster who was having trouble with his display. I was looking for the "Preferences" page which is accessed from the "Account" page.
And, at the very top of the "Account" page is this recap of my own account.
You've posted a total of 842 threads and 40,007 replies.
Now, I have been a member here for a while, but any way you slice it, that is a LOT of use.
I'll simply suggest that anyone who reads this, please check your usage. There is a FReepathon (fund raiser) going on. Every one of those 842 threads and 40,007 replies involved cost that has to be paid for.
I could do the math and post resulting fraction of a cent that I have given to cover that cost. It would be very, very tiny.
But, it would not be zero.
Please think about it. Thank you for reading.

Less than 15 feet from where I’m sitting. We just had some apricot orange semifreddo with raspberry-blackberry sauce. Sounds elegant, actually the simplest thing to make and even simpler to eat. God bless the berry patch!

I sure do. I think that thread got a write-up in the NY Times. And they corrected my typo.
In other words, I've posted probably ten relevant to planet earth news stories, and a whole bunch of Nascar threads, and, um, run off at the mouth to the tune of 50K.
First thing every morning, I check the breaking news column at FR, then see if anyone has responded to a post, then check pings to interesting threads. I've been addicted to FR since before Drudge had a link, and didn't join until something other than modem (SOTM) internet was available at home. Thursday will be my 10th year posting here. I'm a dollar-a-day donor.
In my initial version of hell on earth, I wake up and click the FR icon and get 404.
Each and every one of us need to do what we can to return America, the beacon of liberty, fleeting experiment of representative society, to Constitutional governance.
Such is the goal of Free Republic.
