I apologize in advance, but I have to get this out of my system.
I LOVE MY STATE.
I love everything about it, like the unique culture. The wonderful Georgia landscape. The agrarian Southern values and tradition.
The absolute refusal to go along just because a bully has a gun to our heads.
Its been said that history is replete with turning points. While true, the one staring us as a state in the eye is a crucial one - whether or not to enforce the law of the land. Our federal overseers have consistently failed, time and again, to repel the silent invasion of our sacred property by those refusing to enter this country legally. Aiding them is the media-driven mantra that seeks to make this fight about race, about honest, hardworking innocents that
Race isnt even part of the equation.
We have laws concerning passage into this country. If the federal government does not enforce those laws, the states must, a with all laws. The federal government is currently being chaired by people gleefully presiding over our financial demise, who have no interest in defending this nation.
It is with a breaking heart that I say this, but if the blind people in this country re-elect the purely evil plague that currently occupies the White House, the then country will have gone where I cannot follow, and I will support her actions no longer until she rights herself. My first loyalty remains to my state, a brilliantly beautiful star in distress, fighting to stay alive.
God bless Georgia. Please, Lord, give us the Wisdom, Courage, and Moderation to see this through.
Like all those carpet baggers in ATL?”
Hey as a former Mass-hole, I resemble that remark. Although I'd say that since I've spent the majority of last 22 years in places other than the north east that the Yankee in me has mostly died off. The only thing I still claim from my former home is their sports teams (go B's, Pats, C's and Sox).
I’m with ya. Governor Nathan Deal needs to stand up and announce that a Federal Judge does not have jurisdiction over a sovereign state. The Constitution is very clear. Go tell it to the Supremes. We need to go ahead and put our immigration law into effect ASAP.
Everybody in GA email or call or write the Governor and tell him to stand up and ignore the Federal activist Judges’s ruling.
Despite the fact that he is focusing on NC and the Dems have planned their convention for Charlotte, Obama has no real chance of winning NC in 2012 IMO. He only eked out a 10,000 vote victory in 2010 when he was still an unknown quantity. Up until 2010 NC had not gone Democratic since Jimmy Carter. The Republicans now hold both houses for the first time in 140 years and have been busy trying to do exactly what they said they would do during the campaign, while our Democrat governor tries to stop them by vetoing one good bill after the other.
I have worked for the state of NC for almost 30 years and this year was the first year that I can remember in which the legislature actually completed the budget before the new fiscal year begins on July 1. The governor vetoed it, but her veto was easily overridden.
I’m planning to tomorrow.
No criticism from your southern neighbor, here. I know how you feel!
Me too. This whole thing is BS. Since the illegals have been leaving in droves its been great in our area. We don’t want them back. Let NC enjoy them for awhile.
Have you ever heard of Rufus Reid Asbury?
boyhowdy .. Go Bama/Roll Tide !
(from a southern boy in the middle of Pennsybama .. and JoePa likes y'all too ;-)
Rolllll Tide!!! Thanks tomkat and JoePa!
LOL
Sorry - my previous post was intended for you re Atlanta etc.
>> the then country will have gone where I cannot follow,
I bumped into a few seniors today that are eager to kick ass.
Tomorrow, you kiss the ground you walk on and pledge your allegiance to it.
