In allegation of Supreme Court scuffle, Wisconsin politics hits new low

Over the weekend, a liberal journalism group reported that Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser "allegedly grabbed fellow Justice Ann Walsh Bradley around the neck in an argument in her chambers last week."

The report said details of the incident were "sketchy" and came from three sources who insisted on anonymity...

The report was done by the liberal Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism, working with Wisconsin Public Radio. The Center recently unveiled a project, funded by the Open Society Institute, to "shine a light into the operations of Wisconsin's government." It hired Bill Lueders, a longtime news editor for Isthmus, an alternative newspaper, to run the project.

The report was posted on Saturday... immediately picked up by ThinkProgress, the activist arm of the liberal think tank Center for American Progress... "BREAKING: Wisconsin Justice Prosser 'grabbed fellow justice around the neck' prior to union bill decision," the group tweeted on Saturday afternoon. ThinkProgress sent out more details, and within an hour or two posted an article, "Four Ways Justice David Prosser Can Be Removed From Office..."

As the activist press was running with the story, new evidence emerged in a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel report to suggest the matter was more complicated than originally reported. Whatever happened, happened during a meeting of six of the court's seven justices; in other words, there were several witnesses. One witness supported the original accusation. But another witness said that during a heated conversation, Bradley "charged [Prosser] with fists raised" and that Prosser had put out his own hands defensively. According to one of the paper's sources, Bradley then accused Prosser of choking her, to which another justice reportedly replied, "You were not choked."

Prosser should file a 100 million dollar lawsuit against the writer of the article, think progress and any other activist group involved.

Force them to spend money defending themselves. And when they are done with that one, file another one. And another and another.

It might be good for some citizens to file against the SEIU. Again, force them to spend money.

Pull an Alinsky on the Alinskyites.

“I was demanding that he get out of my office”

You arrogant Alinskyite, that’s not “your” office; it’s an office owned by the taxpayers of State of Wisconsin!

I think you are exactly on point with the Alinskyite tactic theory. One of the well-known Alinsky tactics is to physically attack one who disagrees with you and when the attacked person defends himself, immediately accuse the person you attacked of attacking you.

I think you are right!

People have to fight back against this vicious propaganda.

The NY Times covered this without mentioning that Walsh charged Prosser with closed fists. Nice job from the NY Times, just what one would expect from a biased newspaper.

The intended hit isn’t playing out completely as envisioned.

The more news that comes out the more it looks like Bradley started this thing. The alleged victim in this case has a height, weight, and age advantage on justice Prosser. Although that does not mean that she couldn’t be the victim in this case it should have at least been considered before the hackery was put in the JS. The fact that their 3 “witnesses” wanted to stay anonymous but a justice has now come forward to say that there was no choke and that Bradly charged him should put this to an end with rational people...but we are talking about moonbats here too.

Still, if there was a physical encounter between the 2 Justices Gov Walker should ask for their resignations or have the WI Legislature impeach both. Time to put all this crap to a forceful end.

Walker gets to fill both positions until their next election and the Court becomes 5-2 conservative.

I understand that the ugly disgusting bitter commies will want to push Prosser to the limit as "payback" for having the audacity to win the election.

What would it get them, though? If for some reason they made this into some huge deal and he was forced to resign wouldn't Governor Walker (Oh how I love saying that--Governor Walker)simply be able to nominate a younger replacement who would have ten years on the bench before having to face reelection? By then the Prosser/Kloppy mess will have been long forgotten.

In fact, Justice Prosser almost deserves such as a reward for all he has been put through. A few years off to recharge and then President Palin can put him in a federal spot.

Your scenario ending with this Court of Nutters becoming 5-2 conservative sounds good, but if the attacker Bradley’s purpose was to get rid of and discredit Prosser at all costs, even sacrificing her own seat on the court (all terms end in a new election, anyway), the Alinsky tactic has worked.

Living in a targeted state, Wisconsin, as I do, I’m hearing all kinds of stuff being tossed around;
Examples;

Among the targets are top Republicans not only Walker and local issues

Governor Crist had a comment he made about NJ welfare recipents making over $50 G’s a year on the dole (in reference to what’s happening in Hawaii) get twisted into Crist dening welfare to NJ familys of 5 making only $5 G’s (K) a year.

Majority whip Cantor refuses aid to residents of tornado devestated Joplin MO

This stuff I believe is WH generated because its central theme is not just directed locally but towards 2012.

The problem with average joes filing suits against SEIU is that union thugs will visit your house, your kids’ school, have unions pull out of already contracted work with your bosses, etc.

The tactic was to get rid of only him and now she is likely caught up in it.

Prosser is “conservative” but he’s not that conservative. Walker could appoint a 45 year old conservative judge to take his place who wouldn’t be up for election for 10 years! Theoretically you’d be talking about a Justice who could be on the bench for 30 years.

I think the hatred of Prosser not being Alinskied before this clouded their plan and it could cost them their own seat! Abrahamson will not stand for being Cheif Justice on a court that she’s outnumbered 5-2.

This was an incredibly stupid attack by an unhinged set of moonbats that has the real possibility of blowing up completely in their face.

If Prosser had to leave tomorrow I truly think he would be fine with it...even moreso if Bradley gets caught up in it too.

If she came at him and he put his hands up to stop her, it’s not his loss of control, it’s her loss of control, and it doesn’t make any difference where he put his hands.

A now deceased Democrat attested to his dying days that Justice Abrahamson and Justice Bradley (dumber than a rock, and that is a disservice to the rock) had more than a working relationship. Justice Abrahamson has been trying to undermine other members of the court at least since the 1990’s. She is extremely calculating and mean and can be biting in even the most casual of meetings all the while she smiles and looks like she might be a pleasant person. Her allies could all be members of the battered spouse support group....her enemies could belong to the same group. She is a cancer that will not kill its host but is a parasite to everyone it comes in contact with.
