Heres the thing: Im not particularly interested in what politicians do in their private lives. But if you make a public commitment to your wife and then ask people to keep out of your private life youre sending mixed-messages. So when John Humphreys, the founder of the Australian Libertarian Society defended Americas sleazy Democrat, Anthony Weiner, in Defending the indefensible, my response was clear:
I dont care if he posed for Playgirl thats not the issue. If you cheat on your wife, the likelihood of cheating on people you dont know is very high indeed, according to my reading of history.
Moreover, Weiners actions border on sexual assault some of his female victims appear to be underage and didnt welcome photos of dicks (believe it or not). Apparently, it was very small!
Were talking about a married man. He used his workplace for things other than work and McDonalds workers have lost their jobs for lesser things. I think forgiving is often about enabling and excusing.

But whats with his 50% [of married women cheat anyway] spin?
Dont believe it. Half of women dont cheat. Nor do half of men, for that matter. While no studies are perfect, the more scientific explorations of this subject, Ive reviewed, reveal low levels of cheating within marriage, especially within a traditional framework:
According to the General Social Surveys (GSS), adults in always-intact marriages who attend religious services at least weekly are the most likely to be faithful to their spouses, with an adultery rate of 7.7 percent. Adults in always-intact marriages who never attend worship have a 15.3 percent rate of adultery, while among divorced or separated adults and married, previously-divorced adults, the rate is 23.3 percent for those who worship weekly and 33.8 percent for those who never worship.

People who can not control their impulses make for bad leaders.
Don’t elect people who do not exercise self control in their personal lives because they won’t exercise self control in their job either.
bump
never listen to liberaltarians on moral issues
If he was a Republican, he would practically have been duckwalked out of the capitol for what he tried to get away with. The next election, these issues would have been fair game too and everyone knows it. If that sets a potentially unpleasant precedent, it’s no more unpleasant than the last time this unpleasant precedent was set. Apart from that, Anthony Wiener was probably a hypocritical POS even when he wasn’t texting and I glad he got roto-tilled. It needs to happen more often.
Libertarians confuse amorality and a total lack of self control with freedom and success.
Yeah, they often bring the crazy with them.
