NY Times mixes message on call for reader help with Palin email investigation, now denies request
The Daily Caller ^ | June 9, 2011 | Matthew Boyle

The New York Times originally denied making an open call for readers to help “investigate” e-mails from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, which are set to be released on Friday.

“The New York Times has not asked for readers to help with an investigation,” NYT spokeswoman Danielle Rhoades Ha said in an e-mail to The Daily Caller, pointing TheDC to a specific news story about the Palin e-mails’ release.

Rhoades Ha appeared to have missed a story her own newspaper published on its website, titled, “Help Us Review the Sarah Palin E-mail Records.” The two paragraph story, published on the Times’s Caucus blog, reads:

“On Friday, the State of Alaska will release more than 24,000 of Sarah Palin’s e-mails covering much of her tenure as governor of Alaska. Times reporters will be in Juneau, the state capital, to begin the process of reviewing the e-mails, which we will be posting on nytimes.com starting on Friday afternoon E.S.T.

“We’re asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy e-mails, people and events that we may want to highlight. Interested users can fill out a simple form to describe the nature of the e-mail, and provide a name and e-mail address so we’ll know who should get the credit. Join us here on Friday afternoon and into the weekend to participate.”

When TheDC e-mailed Rhoades Ha back with a link to the NYT’s own story appealing to readers to help the paper “investigate” the Palin e-mails, Rhoades Ha then responded saying that her earlier e-mail had been a misstatement and confirmed that the NYT had published this call to action.

“The New York Times will post the emails in a searchable database on nytimes.com and invite readers to do their own search of the documents,” Rhoades Ha said. “The Times has reporters in Alaska to process the 24,000 documents as well as reporters in New York who will review the materials. If readers draw our attention to something interesting, our reporters will review the information before publishing it on our website or the paper.”

The Washington Post has also requested readers help it “investigate” the Palin e-mails, and their ombudsman did not return TheDC’s requests for comment.

Now imagine this was about Mr. Obama, Secretary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Rep. Pelosi, Gov. Jennifer Granholm or Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

The pukes at the New York Times and the Washington Post have been revealed to be the anti-democratic government totalitarians we always thought them to be.

They do not deserve the right to live in this country and action should be taken as soon as possible to find them a new homeland somewhere else.

I was thinking a great time to strike and make it so would be during the next large hurricane to hit the East Coast.

That should give us till August or September to scout out all the places they hang out and get the ground troops into formation so this can all be accomplished most efficiently.

If the the round-up can be handled in just a couple of hours we will probably only need one ship. If it takes more we'll need two.

Sure, there'll be some collateral damage but that's a risk I'm ready to take ~ besides, none of these people are armed, and few are in good physical shape ~ too much beer and dope for one thing ~ and staying up late in their mothers' basements has taken its toll.

“Hey chief, what’s this big word mean?”

“Caribou, it’s a four-legged animal like a horse- and don’t call me ‘chief’!”

NYT is on a fishing expedition for negatives. It will ignore positives and emphasize negatives or anything upon which a negative spin can be placed.

Palin supporters ought to organize volunteers to research the same material looking for positives and for material that counters any negative spin that the NYT and its volunteers come up with.

Turn the handle the way it goes, only more so.

Pravda now out in the open.

How can “sophisticated and worldly” progressives even attempt to deny their aggressive Communist propaganda.

After combing through her emails and putting whatever “junk” they find “out there”, there is nothing else they can find on her...they squandered their chance to do damage and she’ll be home free. Like she said (and I perfusely paraphrase) they got their proctology exams. One last one shouldn’t hurt. This woman has been vetted more than any other presidential candidate...And she isn’t even running yet! How scared thy must be but they’re using up all their ammo up front. Their quiver will be empty by the time she announces. Good strategery from such a “stupid” woman...

When the domestic marxist enemy within the press is out to destroy a viable conservative candidate, there should be consequences.

She needs to call the faggot communists running the NYT, WP, and LA Times out by name and make them targets for the right.

These douchebags get away with this crap because they hide behind the anonymity of their communist front.

Time to make these bastards pay up front.

Time to make Punch Sulzberger,Eddy W. Hartenstein, and Katharine Weymouth lives EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

They are going to wish they were Tony Weiner before this is over.

This is such an “in our face” privacy over-reach that these thugs ought to scare the daylights out of everyone. This is a perfect example of how the SS in Germany operated. The left are the true Nazis - make no mistake!

The New York Times and its leftist ilk have never demonstrated any curiosity about the man they elected President of the United States.

Who IS this man, Barack Hussein Obama? Nobody seems to know much for certain about his past or his upbringing or even his place of birth. Most of the information the Democrat "mainstream" newsrooms happily rely on comes from two books ostensibly authored by Obama himself. Do you think any of those dying dinosaur newsrooms would seriously investigate a President of their own party? Heh heh, no. I don't think so. In fact, I think they are scared half to death by what they might find, and therefore have to spike.

Meanwhile...

It’s an insult to journalism to even label as journalists these bottom-feeding Obama propagandists. More and more this country’s media/establishment dynamic looks like something one would encounter in third-world environments.

The media has an all-out bloodlust to destroy Palin. If they really want this war, they should be aware a lot of us would cheer the sight of these scumbags hanging from lampposts. And maybe even contribute to its reality, some sweet day.
