Attempting to explain his continued push for higher taxes, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) made the following claim during an interview Thursday with ABCs Jonathan Karl:
COBURN: The fact is, were at the lowest tax rate this countrys been in a hundred years. Right now. In reality, the top marginal income tax rate for individuals is currently 35 percent. In 1987, after Reagans historic tax reform, the top marginal income tax rate for individuals was 28 percent...

Take this article and others I found to the fight to the Libs on their own turf; put the Left on the defensive at at Digg and at Reddit and in Delicious and Stumbleupon
I cannot think of anything at all in American society that is not taxed in one way or another.
They even tax the tax. You are required to claim you tax refund as ‘income’ on next years filing. If that is not double or even triple taxation, I don't know what is.
They even tax ‘unemployment’. So they collect tax to pay unemployment and then when they pay it, they tax it to person they are paying. Again, they are taxing tax.
I am looking for the day that all income is sent to Washington (100% tax rate). Your paycheck will not be paid to you. It will go to Washington first and they will decide how much you ‘need’ and cut you a check. Sounds far-fetched, but it is coming if we do not stop it.
If every politician and political lackey in D.C. were to suddenly be ‘raptured’ (Both Parties), it would be the best thing to happen to America in 200 years.
D.C. is nothing more than a den of thieves, just like any third world country anywhere in the world.
In 1911 the top income tax rate was 0%. There was no income tax.
Oklahoma: Time to bring the good doctor back home to deliver babies and reminisce about the good ol’ days when he was a conservative.
I watched the whole 6:50 tape and Tom Coburn is a staunch conservative who told grover norquisdt to basically kiss his ass.
norquisdt is a jerk off and I'll take coburn every day. Don't cherry pick 15 seconds out of a seven minute interview to dump on Coburn.
Not for Federal.
In the States I've lived in which have state income tax, you declare your Federal return as income, but you also deduct your Federal withholding. So that's not double taxation.
