but to say she has any real popularity among independents is dishonest.

Quite the opposite -- it's dishonest to say she does not have any real popularity among independents. Absent any honest polling, we'll just have to wait for some real campaigns and elections.

To show you how dangerous Sarah Palin is to upsetting the RbINO applecart, after polling over 70% in a poll by US election news to the question of who stands to benefit the most from Huckabee’s announcement, the pollster unceremoniously removes Palin’s name from the choices given and claims they are doing so because too many supporters of Sarah Palin have responded to the poll and voted for her.

Now that's funny, folks.

Huckabee was the one guy who might have succeeded in deflecting some of the Evangelical vote away from Sarah, as he succeeded in doing from Fred in the 2008 primaries. He sent out millions of phone messages in the southern states falsely claiming that Fred was pro-abortion, and that was the clincher for getting Fred out of the race, so McCain could come in with help from his Florida pal.

That's exactly what happened.

Huckabee was a third tier candidate until Fred entered the Race. As soon as Fred entered the race, the media pushed the Huck card, and Huckabee responded by smearing Fred.

Glad to see that it won't be happening again.

Which is why we can’t nominate someone who will lose.

This is ridiculous! Sarah Palin couldn’t possibly benefit because Mike Wallace didn’t mention her as possibly benefiting when he was on Fox and Friends this morning. If the oracle didn’t mention her, what chance does she have? /sarc

Oh, so you think it's "arrogant" of her not to play state-run media's game?

Then we'll wind up with another Bob Dull or John McKeating or Mittens Romney.

No thanks. I prefer someone who can outsmart state-run media, not play to them.

Now go donate some more money to Romney.

I’m anticipating a Cain/Palin OR Palin/Cain ticket the fall of 2012 - as of now that is my dream ticket.

I would love to see a debate featuring Gingrich, Cain, Palin, and Trump. As I said on another thread, it would be a ‘barn burner’.

As you can tell I don’t consider Romney, Pawlenty, Santorum, or Daniels, to be contenders. They are always being pushed as fearsome candidates by Democrats. Yeah, right!/s

I agree completely. As an example of what she will go through look at all of the very nasty hits that Nikki Haley took in running for Governor of So. Car.

And that was from establishment Republicans.

8)Gallup this week found Sarah Palin has the highest favorables among the GOP contenders based on matching up recognition and favorables/unfavorables at 71%. Huck was 2nd before he decided not to run.

Before I make a comment, I have been a Palin supporter and should she run, will continue to support her.

However, I believe the Socialist have done a number on her these two years and accomplished their goal. Gov. Palin like Gov. Huckabee has found a high economically advantageous niche where she is comfortable, can have her voice heard and is establishing financial security for her family.

The Socialists failed to destroy her personally but they did manage to destroy her threat as a politician and her political career.

IMHO, Gov. Palin will not run and her supporters will just shake their heads, bitch that they have to hold their nose and vote for some RINO and go back to watching DWT and/or AI instead of getting out and doing everything possible to bring down the Obama cabal.

If each conservative just flipped one Socialist in the next 17 months then we will be on the road to recovery. I personally am working on 4 and am confident I'll "break" at least one by election time.

Sometimes I think Sarah’s biggest liability is her fanatical supporters.

E.X.A.C.T.L.Y.

The fanaticism exhibited here on FR for Sarah Palin is so disturbing, it is almost creepy.

Sadly, when she becomes the nominee, she will lose so badly that it will make Goldwater’s results look almost close.

Precisely what I told Mrs Don-o this morning. Palin needs to do what she does well - fire up the base and generate $$ for campaigns of others.

Your the one shaking your head giving up on Palin, in the first paragraph. Then you lecture the rest of us about not giving up, and how we should work to support a RINO to defeat Obama in the second paragraph.

Seems to me that you're the one who needs a lecture about giving up.

And where DWTS fits in with all of this (lol), I don't know.

I know it sounds cynical but I view the RNC as a partner to the DNC with the common goal of maintaining the status quo of the ruling aristocracy............. Together, they rig the election so that they don’t really care who wins. Either way they get another status quo in office. Either way, the elites win and the gravy train keeps pouring.

This is also how I see it & I'm believing that it's 8 yrs with each. We taxpayers are so screwed.

“I want a conservative who can beat Obama. Otherwise, what is the point? If Sarah can beat him, then I hope she runs and is the nominee. If it looks like she can’t win, then we need someone else. We cannot have four more years of Obama. And I worry about Bristol’s effect on her as well.”

Neither you, nor anyone else here, should be worried about Bristol Palin. Are you old enough to recall Reagan’s two kids by Nancy? They were BOTH fruitcakes — how did that change him?

Having said that, I, too, want Palin to run. This is “her time”, her chance.

Sarah Palin is the closest we are going to see to a “Lady Margaret Thatcher” of our time in our country.

No, she is nowhere near as elegant or as eloquent as Mrs. Thatcher. But that in itself means little, notwithstanding the fact that some of the most famous American politicians have been brutally plain-spoken (Harry Truman comes to mind).

What Palin embodies is the essence of what made America great: a sense of optimism, grace, good judgement, and simple goodness. She doesn’t have to speak in flowery prose — Americans who take a look at her with a serious mind will get that message loud and clear. Aside: this is why the left, and their media lackies, work so feverishly to discredit and “degrade” her — they see precisely the same things, but from “the other side of the line”.

Conversely, looking at Obama with the same mind, one sees, well — something dark and evil within. A man with not only a past to be hidden, but whose inner beliefs must be so disguised, as well.

It’s time for Palin to run, and get it over with — to either win, or to “get it out of her [and OUR] system.

If she does, the election campaign and results of 2012 will resemble one of two previous election years:
1980, or,
1964.

If you know who ran in those years, you’ll know what I’m talkin’ about...

Just sayin’....

If Palin’s the nominee, it’ll be 1964.

If Cain is the nominee it’ll be 1980.
