Controversial Fox News personality (for now, anyway) Glenn Beck found out all about the wrath of scorned women this week.
Beck managed to infuriate both John McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, and her mother, Cindy McCain, after making light of a skin-cancer ad that the younger McCain appeared in.
During the Wednesday broadcast of his radio show, Beck watched the Style Network PSA -- which features seemingly naked McCain, singer Brandy, Tatyana Ali and Tempest Bledsoe -- while making retching sounds and issuing snide comments.
"Put some extra clothes on," Beck said during one particularly scathing segment. "Like, lots of extra clothes...has she thought about a burqa, just to be extra safe?"
Beck's crass commentary drew an immediate response from Cindy McCain, who cranked up her Twitter account in defense of her daughter on Wednesday.
"I'm so glad Glenn Beck is leaving Fox," the elder McCain snapped. "Enough vitriol and hate. Glenn, you are no rodeo clown. They are decent and nice. You aren't."
Not one to let others speak for her, Meghan cranked out a scathing response herself, which was published by the Daily Beast -- for which she serves as a columnist -- on Thursday.
Titled "Shut Up About My Body, Glenn Beck," McCain's jeremiad begins, "Dear Mr. Beck, I am writing to thank you for helping me spread the word about a serious condition."
And then it gets nasty -- and personal.
"I dont know if you know this, Mr. Beck, but that scar on the side of my fathers face is from a melanoma he had removed when I was in middle school," McCain writes. "Did you know melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer?"
McCain continues, "Clearly you have a problem with me, and possibly women in general, but the truth is, its 2011 and I heard your show on Fox was canceled. Isnt that an indication that the era of the shock jock pundit is over? Dont you think thats a sign you should be pulling it back a little? I mean, if youre too conservative and outrageous for Fox, that should tell you something."
She goes on to crack, "As a person known for his hot body, you must find it easy to judge the weight fluctuations of others, especially young women."
Perhaps McCain was just a tad unfair with that last dig -- after all, compared to his ultra-thick skull, the rest of Beck's form is positively svelte...
McVain girls at it again. Once John leaves I hope they follow.
Megan McCain was doing a PSA, what is Glen Beck’ deal.
Is that better.
A bit. This isn't Twitter.
A bit. This isn't Twitter.
Yeah, well some people might be eating dinner when that PSA comes on. Then who has to mop the floor?
Into the lions den those who criticize Glenn Beck on this thread. Count me in. He went ballistic in 2008 when a woman caller mentioned the eligibility of the President elect. She mentioned the electoral college. The man blew a gasket and shrieked "his is my President". Never trusted him since.
I remember a Republic representative on the television, confronted by a particularly opinionated Democrat woman. He smiled and replied "Will the gentle and gracious lady......" The courtly manners of the gentleman and respectful of the opposite gender, was a delight.
I am one of the few to defend Perkster Katie Couric on her colonoscopy. I detested her nasty unprofessional interview with Sarah Palin. Yet the two things are separate, with Couric. One was a public service, the other a spiteful disservice.
Beck can be taken with a pinch of salt. Oh, and just mention the birth certificate to the man. Bit of the old Bill Maher about Glenn Beck.
I'll take Beck over any POS McCain any day
Ol’ John looks like he might wander off the stage...
Good points
Another myth shot to hell: Black is a slimming color.
They say a camera adds ten pounds. There must be about thirty cameras aimed there.
Mrs. Mccain looks like a Dark tan Suitcase she has spent faaaaar to long in the tanning both or baking in the sun.
You would think she would have learned from her Hubby’s skin cancer not to bake herself like a golder russet potato.
