That is what all the emergency providers here do. I think the Nashville people have phones with Atlanta area codes.

Do you smell what I’m cooking?

You bet. Those poor people will get an iPhone with unlimited data. The paying customers will have their rates jacked up to cover the costs of the federally mandated "free" ones for the "poor" people. A bit like emergency rooms being forced to treat "emergencies" without respect to ability to pay for the services. We'll all be required to have a cell phone by federal mandate or face a fine...just like mandated healthcare insurance.

Makes you wonder, what else will these special ‘chips’ do and perform for Big Bro? Do you really want a government mandated chip in that close of a distance from your brain?

This intrusion and the fact that you can't opt out is completely invasive and out of hand. Cell phone companies are going to be forced into implementing it. Looks like they are being coerced into government service.

All this and I've noticed a great absence of the ACLU big mouths ever since this despotic man took to the helm.

Aside from all this, it isn't the government's business if I own, let alone use a cell phone.

My wife used Reverse 911 just 2 days ago to warn a part of our city (Chubbuck, ID) of a mountain lion wandering the neighborhood on the west end of town. The elementary school locked down the kids so they wouldn't walk home unaware of the big kitty

Check the right window. That is the lion as seen from a cell phone camera picture taken in the basement of the house. The cat was under the front porch deck.

Apparently your wife is a fascist cog in the wheels of big brother, if I understand the tone of this thread correctly.

That’s got to crimp the early spring BBQ season... is the cat making it a regular thing hanging around your neighborhood?

I’d still take the cat over the SoCal traffic you left behind...

I’m still all about the Sailboat Escape Pod Option.

You know, I can’t find that anywhere on the web, that essay I wrote circa 2000. All of the old FR stuff is unsearchable.
