In a speech yesterday to the Republican National Lawyers Association, Rudy Giuliani had plenty to say about President Obama’s foreign policy, American exceptionalism and the Sept. 11 terror attacks. But, his most ear-catching words focused on his potential bid for the presidency in 2012:
“I will sure think about it. … It’s too early and I want to see how it all develops. My major goal is to elect a Republican in 2012. If it turns out that I’m the best one to do that, I can probably be talked into doing it or convince myself to do it. If I thought somebody else had a better chance of doing it, I would be a very enthusiastic supporter of somebody else.”
I wish he would run for Senate instead. We need the RATS out of there and Rudy is one of the Republicans that could win in New York.
I couldn’t agree with you more. It was Rudy who tried to invent the term “attack gun” on national television after the Bernie Goetz shooting. He’s just too leftwing and embarrassing to tolerate.
I met Rudy, I shook his hand, I spoke with him and found him likable. But I do NOT want him as my president.
“Republican primary voters, however, are ruling out Rudy as a candidate.”
They certainly did last time; he had a showing similar to Al Sharpton.

In my view, if Rudy wants to run for anything he should run against Schumer.
No problems, if Rudy won’t rule out the presidency the voters will do it for him.

I wouldn’t rule him out. He’s got the tranny vote locked up.
Please do not lump me in with the Pro Gay, Pro Abortion crowd, I am anything but that. In my comments about Rudy I said I see a few good attributes and his pro-gay, pro-abortion leanings were not mentioned. In fact, those are the unspecified negative attributes.
What I see is every time the Dems are in power we on the Christian Right lose ground. Then when the GOP gets control we never seem to gain ground. Why is that? When is the last time the GOP has given us a candidate that is very adamantly against the Pro Gay, Pro Abortion, Pro Atheist agenda and has really done something about it?
We are never going to get that from the GOP and we are always going to be picking from very flawed candidates. I am to the point that I don't even think we have much say in it. I think the election process is largely theater set up to appease us and make us think we have some input on the “Ruling Class”.
I do not know the history of what happened around here in 2008, sounds like you had some issues with pro-Romney, Pro-Rudy plants... Maybe it was easy for you to think I fell in with that crowd, but to think so is a mistake on your part.
Well, mistake or not, there will be no campaign for Rudy or Romney on this site. That you can be sure of.

It amazes me how so many on this board do not understand how the GOP machine works and why the race will be between Romney and Rudy.
It isn’t my perfect cup of tea either, but I wouldn’t re-elect Obama dog catcher.
As for the leftist theories about Rudy. I recommend you read his book “Leadership” before continuing to make yourself look so foolish.
Rudy is virulent in his social libertarianism. He will not be a leader of conservatives.
