Obama’s War On Terror Shift Into Barack W. Bush Deserves Credit

I have always believed in the power of giving credit where it is due. This rule is tested when the credit may be due to President Obama, and you disagree with almost everything that he has done in office. It is further tested when one notices how stingy President Obama has himself been with the credit due to President Bush's War on Terror policies. However, President Obama deserves great credit for breaking from his liberal roots and taking a risk to kill terrorist mastermind Osama bin Ladin.

President Obama is a professorial liberal who neither understands nor likes what America is . . . a superpower with very real interests in the wider world. However, it must be said that he deserves credit for ordering a ground assault on Osama bin Ladin's Pakistani compound. Did any of us believe he has the testicular fortitude to order a ground assault, as opposed to a B-52 strike or a Predator drone strike? I admit that I was shocked that he would order a covert operation next to a military base of a sovereign state. President Obama is exactly the kind of liberal who would take seriously the sovereignty of a “nation” like Pakistan. Yet, he did order the strike. This is the same President who has quadrupled Predator strikes while in office in order to minimize US losses.

One of the central oddities of modern politics is that Republicans drift to the left on domestic policies once in power (see Bush's ridiculous expansion of prescription drugs benefits), while liberals drift to the right on foreign policies (see Obama quietly adopting most of Bush's WOT policies while leaving open Camp Gitmo). Why is this?

My theory is that America is basically more conservative on prestige issues which touch upon our place...

No, he doesn’t. He motivation was personal and political gain. I despise him even more after watching him run around and try to maximize his personal political gain from all this. Not to mention, he is LYING about the details.

Who cares? Look I disagree with 99.99% of what he does, but give him his due when he does the right thing, even on accident.

Absolutely nobody can convince me Obama ordered ANY team to go after OBL. Obama may have made an election promise but he had no legal authority to give orders to the Pentagon.

Sure he does it and they just shine him on, but ultimately and for the historical records since Obama Failed to Qualify he basically would be ordering an assassination with no Executive backing.

So let Obama claim he deserves all the credit, liers will ultimately face a day of reckoning.

History will look at the constant slamming from Obama on the Bush policies, those same policies that resulted in the capture of Bin Laden, and realize Bush lead and Obama followed. It takes a much bigger man to take the criticisms of the world to know he is doing the right thing. Obama can only Hope to Change into the man President Bush is.

To give credit where credit is due, Obama has at some point told the truth on all the details, I think. There either was a firefight, or there wasn't; either way, Obama told the truth. OBL either hid behind his wife or daughter, or he didn't; and again Obama told all possible versions of the story. OBL either resisted, attempted to resist, or might have planned on resisting and at least failed to surrender instantly; we have all possible stories from the druggie in our White House. BHO watched the assault live via satellite link or watched the preliminaries live, or staged a photo to make it look like he sat in the corner while the adults watched the raid live. I am more confident than ever before with BHO that somewhere in there the truth escaped from his mouth.

President Obama CANNOT, without revealing his orders to DISBAND the programs that President Bush instigated, talk with the praise and acknowledgement he should be doing, talk with praise regarding President Bush.

The very programs that led to the find and kill of osama.

obama is a full pledged wimp of a man.

Our future is MUCH less safe under obama. And not just because of a return fire from the death of osama. But because across the world, the plans President Bush implemented with our resources of intelligence, interrogation procedures, military procedures in the process of battles has been negated by obama. Only gitmo remains.

We are in a much greater vulnerable zone because of that idiot in the WH.

Obama and his Dem butt kissers have to pretty much eat what they protested about in regard to how to treat prisoners AND how to conduct clandestine operations.

They shifted into Credit Hussein mode before the SEALS had a hot shower. This has been about how to give Barry credit from the very beginning, and he has been spiking the football all week long.

When the truth finally emerges about what really happened, Barry is going to be seriously diminished, and right before the election, to boot. His own base is livid that the mission happened at all, so this ought to be very interesting to watch as it develops...

I get the impression that Obama fought the decision to take out Bin Laden. A lot more so than most. That it is not in his nature to do it and he did it grudgingly.

To be honest, it would be a tough decision for me. However, all doubt would be gone after I looked at the audio tapes, videos, and pictures of the 9/11 attack and the subsequent videos of Bin Laden gloating.

This animal had no remorse and deserved what he got.
