Who's keeping track of the number of lies being told about the "Osama Incident"?
Vanity

Posted on 05/05/2011 10:24:33 AM PDT by pabianice

So far, I count five mutually exclusive stories -- plus dozens of contradictory details -- being told by the White House about what can only be called "The Osama Incident." Was he killed? Where is the proof? Did it take 16 hours for Obama to make a 'go' decision? Did Panetta actually make the decision? Did Obama go golfing first and take a nap? Did a US Navy SEAL team take 38 minutes to kill one armed guard and get to an unarmed Osama while he was watching "American Idol?" Was a wife killed? Were there 1,2,3,4, or 5 wives there? Were all the guards except one unarmed? How many officers and sailors aboard the carrier threw-up during Osama's politically correct, outrageous 45-minute Muslim funeral service? Did Obama really say he honored Osama in death "because we are better than they are"? How did "allergies" make Hillary cover her mouth during the pay-per-view assault on Osama's annex to the Pakistani Military Academy?

All help in unravelling this great mystery are welcome.

I saw this on another site. I found it to be an accurate summary, but it only is updated through yesterday. The two new versions have yet to be added. 21 and 22 are interesting, to say the least.

1) There was a firefight.
2) There was no firefight.
3) Bin Laden was “resisting.”
4) Bin Laden wasn’t armed. (Makes the concept of “resisting” interesting.)
[4.a) And the newest one: the SEALS thought bin Laden was reaching for a weapon.]
5) He used his wife as a shield.
6) His wife was killed too.
7) He didn’t use his wife as a shield. She ran at a SEAL who shot her in the leg, but she’s fine.
8 ) Some other woman — the maid? — was used as a shield. By somebody. Downstairs.
9) That other woman — downstairs — was killed.
10) Maybe not. She was killed unless she wasn’t — and who was she, anyway?
11) Bin Laden’s son was killed.
12) Unless it was some other guy.
13) Bin Laden’s daughter saw him get killed. She’s undoubtedly traumatized, poor dear.
14) They were going to capture Bin Laden until the problem with the helicopter, which was:

A) It had mechanical trouble
B) It did a hard landing
C) It crashed
D) It clipped a wall with a tail rotor, effectively a crash

15.) They were never going to try to capture him; it was always a kill mission.
16.) No, it wasn’t.
17) The chopper blew up.
18) The SEALs blew it up.
19.) Panetta said yesterday the world needed proof and the photo would be released.
20.) Obama said today in an interview he taped with Steve Kroft for “60 Minutes” to be broadcast Sunday that it won’t be released. It’s too gruesome, would offend Muslim sensibilities (something he worries about a lot — I personally do not give a warm fart on a wet Wednesday about Muslim sensibilities), and how would Americans feel if Muslims released pictures of dead Americans?
21.) Kroft — who’s not a total idiot — pointed out that ever since “Black Hawk Down” days, Muslims have been doing precisely that, filming American bodies being dragged through the streets, filming Daniel Pearl’s head being cut off, filming any and everything.
22) Obama gets pissed at CBS, the tape gets cleaned up, that question disappears. (Inside info.)
23.) We got a “treasure trove” of stuff from hard drives, etc.
24.) There were no phone lines, and no internet access at the “mansion,” they didn’t even have TV — what “treasure trove?”
25.) There is obviously in the pictures of the place a large satellite dish. I guess they used it for making salads.
26.) And now, just today: apparently the idea was to capture him, but only if he was naked. There was a suspicion he might be wearing a suicide bomber type explosive vest, or belt. So if he’s not naked and you can’t see if he has a vest on or not – shoot him.

International newspapers first published that this was a Pakistani army operation, then retracted it at whose request?

Basically you have to save all the articles as they come out, then you can see how masterfully the stories are re-engineered to suit the political aim.

The Oklahoma city bombing was one of the first big stories that got re-engineered for political purposes of the Clinton white house.

And don’t you forget how Bill Clinton took over that press conference of Obama’s in the white house press room. There is a marxist/globalist gang at work in our white house for the last 20 years—its all the same folks who brought you Ruby Ridge and Waco and everything else, and it stinks to high heaven.

Yeah...the “no internet, treasure trove” stuff occurred to me. I explained it to myself by thinking the couriers brought in disks so they didn’t have to go broadband to get info (or to give it out). But who knows?

If water boarding is torture and torture never produces reliable information then how does one explain the name of the courier which started the yellow brick road to Bin Laden?

If Bin Laden isn’t a good Muslim, but a thug and a murderer of many more Muslims than anyone else, why the pretence of the Islamic funeral. He could have been buried at Gitmo and we wouldn’t have to worry about his followers coming to worship his grave. If they do rooms could be provided.

Was OBL killed by a Navy SEAL or was he killed by one of his body guards? I find it hard to believe that he was unarmed and alive in his bedroom when the SEALs entered his third floor bedroom. There was a helicopter landing in his yard and shooting downstairs. If the SEAL’s entered his bedroom and found him alive and unarmed they would have to take him prisoner or be charged with murder. Other Navy SEALs were court martialed for giving another terrorist a fat lip. Was there an autopsy?

You too can play the Obama/Osama Current Truth Version Game!

Just Mix-n-Match your choice of “facts”, and watch the hilarity begin!

(WARNING: This may cause premature cranial explosion among people with active brain-cells. Do not play while driving, or operating heavy equipment, or while flushing.)

Coinflicting information and opinions about classified operations do not amount to lies.

Hey now, there will be no talking sense in this thread.

This is all leading to the upcoming merger of freerepublic and prisonplanet.

They may not amount to the truth, either.

If you can not disprove the statements they are not lies.

Conflicting accounts are the normal way of things

Nitpicking details is a fun game but has no real significance compared to the fact Osama is dead

It should be noted there is disagreement about the details of the assassination of President Lincoln, not to mention the events in Dallas ending the life of JFK

Hard to tell who’s winning this. Osama with his 72 virgins, or Obama with his 72 versions.

When you announce the details of a covert military action you lose all right to then cry “It’s confusing because it’s classified!”

ADD Hillary and Panetta’s contradictory statements:

She said we had help from the Pakistanis and Panetta said we didn’t inform them.

That's what happens when you decide to do colour commentary.

few words better

Veni, Vidi, Vici - some garrulous Italian

Peccavi - some taciturn Englishman

The whole true story will never be told...that’s the intention.

Bottom line though is the mussie pig is dead.

Bingo we have a winner. I was wondering if anyone would point out the obvious. In missions like this there will always be conflicting details between initial accounts and what really happened. The fact there are descrepancies is proof this event actually happened and was reported by different humans who will make mistakes on the details being passed around.

If someone sees a conflict between having laptops and no internet access in the era of thumb drives they are not very bright.

However once the mission was over there would have been debriefs. Then all the details would have been gathered and provided to the WH. So I don’t see the need for the story to keep changing now unless they are trying to reshape the story.
