Our government at work.
A year-long sting operation came to an end this week. In that time, the government used fake names and surprise inspections all to nab the people at Rainbow Acres Farm in the D.C. area. The reason: they were selling milk.
Unpasteurized milk, to be exact. Asked for comment, the government released this statement: It is the FDAs position that raw milk should never be consumed. Therefore, the Amish farmers at Rainbow Acres had to be brought down.
Asked for comment, one Washington resident stated, I look at this as the FDA is in cahoots with the large milk producers. I dont want the FDA and my tax dollars to go to shut down a farm that hasnt had any complaints against it. Theyre producing good food, and the consumers are extremely happy with it."
Is this the government over-reaching? I guess you can decide.

The Obama commie machine must go!
On the other hand, the smallpox vaccine was invented when Thos. Salk discovered that diary maids never got smallpox. “Fresh faced, like a dairy maid. No scars.”
Cowpox confers immunity to smallpox.
How many lives has that saved?
Letters being written to elected representatives about such over-reaching and anti-liberty actions of bureacracies? Or only sarcasms being posted on forums?
Do you think this is the vision of America our founding Fathers had when they spoke about freedom? They are making a libertarian out of me..

Testing positive for TB is not the same as having it. My mother’s family got their milk from their cow with a T branded on her cheek. She always tested positive, but she never has never had TB.
Bioweapon!
America, land of the free and home of the brave. Love it or leave it.
They said if I voted for John McCain, the government would shut down Amish Milk Producers, and they were right.
Funny how that works completely absent GOVERNMENT.
Actually we had better form one new alphabet agency if we get rid of most of the other ones. Freepers would do just fine. But we’d need the DIA (Department of Idiots Assistance) for the ones that seem to think they need all this government intrusion into their lives.
The farm where I usually buy my milk is now acting illegally, thanks to our previous Congress. And yes, that includes Republicans.
You buy raw milk from farmers you trust, then review their testing records for not just TB, but brucellosis and johnes also. It’s really none of the gov’t business what kind of milk people want to drink.
But pasteurized milk can have just as many problems as unpasteurized including salmonella and e coli contamination and people have died from those infections directly attributed to come from the pasteurized milk they drank.
oh thank goodness we had the feds taking out the amish milk sellers.
it’s not like we have radical blank panthers intimidating voters or rabid drug gangs kidnapping & killing our citizens or anything.
get those evil milk peddlers!
/sarc
these people would be a joke if their actions didn’t have consequences. unfortunately, they do. as such, they are a clear and present danger to all Americans (that won’t vote for them)
we need to stop funding their bullsh*t
Oh for Pete's Sake...I didn't say let the Feds run your life, I was just saying that if you get milk straight from the farmer, then pasteurize it yourself before you drink it. Good Grief. Calm Down. Chill OUT! Or are you normally a Drama Queen?
if this were a Republican adminstration and chocolate milk, the leftholes would be screaming racism
BTW... I agree that Pasteurization is a very good idea and I wouldn't personally buy raw milk. I just wanted to make the point that this should be an individual decision absent government asshattery.
Don't take the Internet too personally. It isn't healthy...
